Federal Reserve hasn't been delaying defaults, that's the Treasury.  The Federal Reserve could in theory prevent a default but it would be a really radical step to do that.  It would probably be better for the Fed to allow the government to do a pure stupidity default then try and stop them.

Maybe we might even get a decent compromise next year if the current politicians get burned badly enough by a default thats entirely their fault.

Decent compromises have been on the table for a long time.  It's not "politicians" that are the problem.  It's a subset of politicians that gain when you blame politicians in general for the action of a small minority.  It's a very perverse system.

What's with Trump's tweet that Iowa voters are retarded from pesticides in the corn since they voted for Carson in polls instead of him. It seems pretty suicidal for a Republican candidate to mock rural Republican voters.

Quote
In response to the poll, Trump retweeted a tweet about Iowa voters: "#BenCarson is now leading in the #polls in #Iowa. Too much #Monsanto in the #corn creates issues in the brain?"

He's since blamed that on an intern or an otherwise stupid supporter. He's not the first campaign to have an intern be stupid, there has already been a few in other campaigns I believe.

Not that I'm for Trump.....

That shoe would be better to my tongue than Trump's inaugural address would be to my ears.
I dunno, he might have my vote if he promised that his inaugural address would be him doing that mashup video where he just says "China" a zillion times.

Chafee is now out of the race.

Now it's just Sanders, Clinton, and O'Malley. I wonder how long O'Malley will last though.

Damn, ninja'd to the news. Groundbreaking as it is, and all.

Any idea who inherits Chaffee's vote? (No, that's not a typo.)

Is that O'Malleys nickname?

Huh, I guess both CNN and Politico mispelled it then?

Probably going to be split between the remaining three, but the votes going for him were so few that the impact will be minimal, if visible at all.

Now the republican field needs to get with it's winnowing.

It's just confusing because you misspelt 'Chafee' while trying to make a not-a-typo joke. :P
