I'm not sure what you're referring to specifically, but I just thought it funny that that exact incident happened at my uni.

I like to think that they told her to smile, and then told her that she's been arrested, right before taking the picture.

"Resisting Arrest" is just an absurd concept these days.

I think that they got charged with that, since it was difficult to arrest them, not because they were actively resisting arrest in the moment, but set up a situation that would make it difficult to arrest them.

As I understand it, they were just making a general protest about a lot of things, but there were lots of protests going on at once, mostly focused on tuition hikes, so it got rolled together.

They intended to be arrested. It's part of the plan for getting attention to your cause when you pull stunts like that.

Because it's being slapped onto a situation where they weren't doing anything to resist arrest besides the already illegal actions they were doing.  It's double dipping.  It's already illegal to create a public nuisance so creating creating a public nuisance shouldn't be called resisting arrest.  These people clearly had no intention to resist arrest.

It's also seemed like a common police tactic for the last several years to harass someone who hasn't done anything wrong and then arrest them for resisting arrest when they don't act like they're being arrested.  This is why in so many videos of police confrontations, you have people repeatedly asking if they're being arrested, and the officer never giving a clear response until they just attack.  Bonus points for yelling "stop resisting!" And continually beating the person because they reflexively put their hands in front of their face or try to breath in spite of the knee on their throat.

Should be noted that the latest national poll on the Dem race has Clinton just 7 percent ahead of Sanders, in a poll with a margin of error of +/- 6.1%.

And in the same national poll, Sanders beats Trump head-to-head by 16, Clinton by just 10. (Biden spanks The Donald by 21.)
Sadly, they didn't poll-test Sanders against any of the other GOPpers, would be fascinated to see how he stacks up against someone like Bush or Rubio.

While nobody has challenged McCarthy for the speaker position yet, there's plenty of conservatives vying for majority whip. Since McCarthy is allied with the Tea Party, I bet the far right people will start clamoring louder to just go for default.

I wonder if there will be a question in the debate asking about willing to go default.

While normally that would be inflationary, these are not normal times.

We should start swiftly returning to normalcy soon, but as we do a strong dollar would be the wisest policy.  This will allow for more purchasing power by american consumers (long overdue) in the recovery and should give a much needed boost to the European economy which is in our selfish best interest as well as being desirable in it's own right.  It also would be something of a preventative measure about the risk of turmoil in China which isn't particularly likely but is so potentially destructive that a small risk is a major concern.
