Yeah, Obama was doing the whole executive order thing out of frustration.

Well, to be fair everyone from the GOP to liberals are currently bashing Trump. The way some of the questions at the debate were framed to make him look bad would be disgraceful if he was a real candidate.

Some of them (especially the first one, seriously, who the heck does that as a debate question) were obviously aimed at Trump.

I hope CNN does it more professionally than FOX did. We didn't get a whole lot out of that debate, mainly because there are so many candidates.

Found this while looking for latest poll results: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/08/how-google-could-rig-the-2016-election-121548.html?hp=b2_c2#.VdZRMZeo2oE Not sure how much they are 'making a mountian out of a molehill' here and the article doesn't offer ways to potentially fix it, so, while theres a grain of truth to it, I'd also take a grain of salt with it.

Congressional action is far more permanent and more difficult to repeal.
To be fair, part of that is because they can't get their collective ass in gear long enough to actually repeal anything. They'd probably do it more often, if they did anything at all.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Agency regulations aren't that much more stable than executive orders, they just take longer to change.

6 of one, half of a dozen of the other?

clinton seems to be collapsing in swing state polling almost everywhere. polling low to mid 40s at best even in pennsylvania

Still way too early, I'd say the most definitive look will be after the Democratic debate.

Also, from the Qunnipac poll, looks like Gilmore, Pataki, Graham, and Perry aren't even breaching the 1% point and could be due to drop out (self-speculation). Jindal is like, BARELY hanging in there.

If it gets down to 12 or 13 (and obviously if it goes down to 11), I wonder if CNN will put everybody on the stage? Still have a ways to go.

Perry will probably drop out in the next two weeks. He's already stopped paying staff in several states, because the fundraising just hasn't materialized.

At some point Pataki is going to realize he's in the wrong damn party, just like Jon Huntsman. I don't think he'll last to the NH primary, unlike Huntsman. Huntsman at least had some interest from moderates and libertarians. Paul has sucked up the libertarian demographic and moderates are mostly staying the hell away from the clown car, or looking at guys like Kasich and Rubio.

Gilmore's campaign was DOA on launch. I forgot he was even a candidate.

Yes, she's only running 26 points ahead of Sanders and Biden.  But I'm sure that it would look like a collapse if you went front head to head matchups of Sanders-Clinton last week and this week you are looking at a three way matchup.

For the record, Kasich's moderate cred is pretty much a lie unless you define moderate as "not religious right". Someone I know who had to interact with his people in Ohio a lot says he's full corporate takeover.

Considering she was 50 some points ahead not all that long ago, yeah I think it's fair to call it a significant regression, if not a collapse. You would expect Biden to cut into Bernie's numbers (as another not-Hillary) not Clinton's.

You would expect Biden to take from the self proclaimed socialist and not from the Obama administration member that he is ideologically similar to?

Here is the last poll by the same outfit to do PA:

Where is the collapse?

i was mainly referring to the hypothetical general polling, especially versus rubio. it's not good for someone with that much name recognition as the democratic frontrunner to be polling at 40% versus rubio's 47% in pennsylvania which has voted democrat consistently for a long time

Yeah and the same poll showed Rubio beating Sanders by twice that much.  Which seems more likely to you?
1) A swing state leaning slightly democratic is going to a republican by double digits when the nationwide polls show a slight democratic edge.
2) The voter sample in Pennsylvania happened to be biased towards Rubio (quite possibly due to the demographic weighing effects)

Yeah, I would. People that are voting purely on ideological lines aren't going to go with Biden if they have Clinton. They're going to go with Biden because they're profoundly uncomfortable with Clinton as a candidate, either for perceived vulnerabilities in the general election or on character grounds or maybe they just don't like her. Those folks were already either in the Sanders camp or in the "I don't know" camp. And possibly some had been polling for Clinton, but I can't see him peeling that many core centrists away from her. He's probably less electable than Clinton, but more likeable.

Yeah, while Kasich's late join seemed more strategic than anything, Gilmore barely even registered as a blip and it wasn't until several days later that CNN even mentioned it. So, it's almost like a 'jump on the bandwagon' thing.

Also, it's funny how people are going for Biden, yet he isn't actually running.
