At this point I think both sides are up to some reprehensible shit, but the Israelis holding the power means they're up to more reprehensible shit.

... I think taking the discussion re: israel beyond how it's relevant to US politics or general voter opinions is something that should be done somewhere not this thread, m'self. We have other places to discuss the comparative morality of that particular FUBAR situation. Or did, anyway.

Fair enough.

So, how about the blazing fireball that was Christie's ambition?

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Probably a trainwreck by now.

I'm guessing they mean this. The whole thing has given him a distasteful reputation for petty and vindictive crookery, which is a shame because his policies are actually quite moderate compared to most of his competition (even if that isn't saying much.)

God dammit, Republicans. Is it too much to ask that you field a single not-shitty candidate?

Recall that they do have to find a politician. This rather sharply limits their not-shitty options.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Not only that, they have to find a republican politician. That practically eliminates them.

IS there a non-shitty republican candidate? Maybe you could give us an example of a republican who would be non-shitty.

I don't think there's any such thing as a non-shitty candidate.

Anyway, here's Bernie Sanders on the issues:
