He's said that he was going to skip the undercard debate because he wasn't able to get into the main stage. He might have done a last minute change of mind, dunno.

Having Rand Paul in there might actually have made it a bit more lively, but yeah, theres hardly any point left to it. The fact that Fiorina launched out of it and Christie managed to bounce back out of it gives the lower tier candidates that glimmer of hope they need to stay in I guess.
