He likes him because someone like Trump would be fantastic for Putin's own favorability at home. What Russian president wouldn't love a foul-mouthed idiot for an American president, who would confirm every Russian's worst bias without their own president ever even having to say anything.

If any conservative is paying attention, the fact Putin approves of Trump should be a talking point.

They're both thugs and bullies. One thug in world politics is too many.

Two thugs, and they're working together? Nothing good can come of that.

Except love springing from the strangest of places. Two brutal authoritarians with shady pasts, raised to power in houses which have long distrusted each other. Putin and Trump bare it all this Christmas in... Western Hemisphere Story.

Nice riff on West Side Story, heh.

Anyways, yeah, as I said and others implied/said, Putin is seeing and liking Trumps authoritarian streak. The whole 'it takes a thief to know a thief' kind of thing.

All hail Trumputin!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Alternately....

One's a former KGB officer with a penchant for wrestling bears and flying fighter jets barechested. The other is a billionaire professional asshole. Together, they fight Muslims crime!

See, I was gonna suggest they do the fusion dance to fight Majin Obama, but that works too.

Trumputin is Vodkanoid master race, not Reptilian.

Still wrong-- Vodkanoids have sunken, bloodshot eyes. Not black and grey ones.

(Rather, the vodkanoids themselves have a completely alien form-- being liquids at room temperature and pressure-- The host bodies they inhabit exhibit sunken, bloodshot eyes.)

Good point. Vodkanoids are also highly flammable in their native form.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, does this mean all Russians are just physical hosts for an invading race of intelligent vodka? Seems as likely as any other explanation.

It's a terrible thing that the vodkanoids do to their unwitting hosts---

Crippling dependence upon vodkanoid posession, serious health complications, persistent alterations of mental states, and to top it all off-- they maintain a powerful addictive effect, so even when the host is freed from vodkanoid possession, they endure life-long cravings to return to being controlled slaves of their liquid masters.

The worst part is that they have been a part of human upper crust politics for as long as humans have been capable of civilization, slowly and surely controlling our world governments from the very beginning.

Sadistic bastards.

(LOL, this is fun.)

A few poll results:

Monday's Monmouth poll shows Trump with his best results of the campaign, at 41% nationally, 27 points ahead of 2nd place Ted Cruz.

Today's PPP Iowa poll focuses on head-to-head matchups, and finds that Sanders actually does better against top GOP opponents than Clinton, with the exception of Jeb Bush (whom Sanders beats 44-40, as opposed to Clinton's 46-41). Interestingly, the only GOP candidate to beat both of them in head-to-head polling was Marco Rubio (7 points over Clinton, 2 over Sanders). Though in a hypothetical 3-way race with Trump, Rubio and Clinton, Clinton wins by 6. Likewise, a Trump 3rd party bid flips the table in a Clinton-Cruz matchup.

This seems a bit hard to reconcile with PPP's own caucus numbers from Iowa, which shows Clinton with a 52-34 lead there. So, Iowa Dems like Clinton more than Sanders for the nomination, but like Sanders more for the general election? Iowa, bros....do you even politics?

Sanders is probably drawing (more) non-Dem votes in the general. The gun issue might have something to do with it.
