Is it perhaps a little premature to be talking about dynasties when neither candidate has actually been nominated, let alone elected?

It's just a shock image poster who could only find one image to post. Stick on your ignore list, report, and wait for Toady to do the rest.

I already have.

I really don't get the gif in the middle. Porn, sure, gore, that's a given - but why that gif?

Its a safeforwork 'NO' gif in the middle there.
As for why?  Well, it probably indicates a transition from the porno to the gore...

(I like how we have several ongoing discussions about this in a few threads.)

Between this and the agreement in Europe it's like we are in some bizarro universe where politicians actually do their goddamn jobs.

I'm not sure giving the government more control over the internet is a good thing.

We, the citizens, want the DHS to be running?  In any case, most democrats and republicans agree that the secret police need to be funded; remember that this is proxy war for immigration.

I'm in favor of amnesty, but we need to secure that border if we aren't going to try to rebuild Mexico.   It's absurd how little we support Mexico's security and economy.  Is it an exaggeration to call Mexico a failed state?   ISIS makes everything look moderate, but there are cartels just as hardened to death and violence.

If we want to not be world police, we have to let overseas powers handle matters overseas.  There's plenty of foreign policy to be done outside Europe and Near Asia.

For the last time, the FCC measure isn't increasing government control over the internet. It's the FCC informing themselves how they will regulate the business practices of ISP corporations, which have become increasingly malignant over the past decade. This is a measure to maintain the status quo, which has been degrading.

In other news the practice of special interest groups spreading misinformation is alive and well.

In other news the practice of special interest groups spreading misinformation is alive and well.
They have been fairly competent at convincing people that net neutrality is a bad thing, it's true.

In actually other news, I've been tricked into taking a Constitutional Law course, and through reading the cases I've hashed out what I think to be a fairly good model of US government, but I think it could be bettered and wouldn't mind some feedback or elaboration. Here we go:

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

The purpose of the net neutrality decision was to keep Comcast and the like from doing things like "Hey, Netflix. That sure is a nice business model you have there.  Would be a shame if anything were to happen to it."; not to mention the massive potential for censorship (which Google is getting bad about) and political manipulation that was becoming a real threat. The FCC having the power to stop that is an unambiguously good thing, and only the corrupt or the gullible have any reason to think otherwise.
