@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

It would be fascinating to see if Trump could survive long enough to run in NC and carry the state. I think we have a huge untapped reservoir of crazy here. (in the primary).

Or survives Super Tuesday even. Since the number of states at once there makes it a kind of 'do or die' point.

It just dawned on me that at some point, hawkers are going to start selling Trump wigs at Trump rallies.

@smjjames: I think NC may actually be before Super Tuesday this year. The Republican NC Legislature passed a law a couple of years ago pegging our primary date as a fixed amount of time after the SC primary, which pushed us way forward. Supposedly the RNC said that NC would forfeit half its delegates if that remained, and there was legislation under debate to move us back, but it's never been passed yet.

I don't think the DNC has made any similar threats, because they recognize that Dems in NC are powerless to affect the process.

He'll survive. The Atlantic has a good piece on this... the reason most candidates crash and burn is that their funding dries up, and that's not something Donald "Nobody builds walls better than me" Trump needs to worry about. Instead of sucking up to donors who want immigration reform, he can tell voters exactly what they want to hear. If it pays off, expect copycats in the future...

I can't imagine there being too large a pool of potential Trump copycats. Unless Mark Cuban decides to run somewhere down the road.

I think we've reached the point where Trump cannot be easily dismissed based on prior dynamics. This is a new ballgame, and one that is increasingly making me profoundly disturbed. Looking at the type of people that form his core base (online at least), I will volunteer and put in 30-40 hours a week working for his opponent if he gets the nomination. I don't care if that's Hillary or whoever. The idea that those kind of reactionary troglodytes could come be empowered into becoming "the mainstream" is frankly, fucking terrifying.

Aren't they ALREADY copycats? Because, you know, politicians.....

Of course though, the other candidates trying to be a copycat and trash latinos would ruin the republican party even further and go in the exact opposite direction that they determined they needed to go after that 'autopsy' of theirs.

Would be fun to see what their 'autopsy' says after failing this election. Though with Trump slowly climbing up on Hillary, who knows.

As for voting for Trump, I actually did feel a bit more inclined to vote for him when was talking about bringing jobs and companies back to the US, mainly because nobody else has talked about it to my knowledge.

Can't wait for the debate in September. I wonder if CNN will combine all of them on the stage if it gets down to like 14 or something? Then again even 14 would be really crowded.

Yeah, I don't see him as being a very good president, at all. I'm almost inclined to vote for him as a 'fak you' to republicans to teach them a lession.

He'll probably have an even worse time with congress than even Carter (I heard that he had bad relations with congress, no idea who had it worse) since he's already alienated most of the establishment, so, I dunno........

Edit: You know, I wonder how well Trump would do in a poll in New York? Just wondering since in the latest polls, Scott Walker did well in his home state of Wisconscon, and New York is considered Trumps home state for all intents and purposes, right?

Also, Trumps vitriol becomes physically manifest, I know theres always the crazies, but then there's Trumps lack of distancing himself from the violence.

Look, I get it -- you've already ordered like 500 Clinton '16 t-shirts and the Hillary Clinton cuddle pillow, and you'll be damned if some unwashed socialist like Sanders or some biker-groping putz like Biden is going to screw this up for you.

Actually I like all three of Clinton, Sanders and Biden and am not sure which one I would vote for in the unlikely event that the primary campaign isn't settled before April.

The unwashed hippy that is annoying me is you.  Candidate approval declining in a primary is about as unprecedented as it getting cold in the winter.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

If you want to look at polls 15 months in advance then look at the historical context.  Clinton was running ahead in 2008?  Well was she running ahead by a comparable amount?  Sanders is surging?  Well is it unusual for a candidate with an obvious constituancy and appeal to surge as he gains recognition and receives mostly positive press?  (Some of the crap they are peddling as they first hear about him is pretty god awful but until the past few weeks it's been positive.)

Somebody mentioned that there's a petition to get Stewart to host the big debate (not sure which one), how possible is this? Because I would really love to see that circus unfolding :D

Ugh... I'm having a serious Trumpover right now – the full course with headachy nausea & the shakes & everything. Could we rather discuss Bernie "Bern in Hell" Sanders for a change, like the fact that he's actually Larry David, or the fact that he's literally a card-carrying neo-Nazi, honest injun.

And as someone mentioned a few pages ago, he used to be called Bernadette Sanders back in the eighties...

I would honestly rather see anyone in the White House over Hillary after what she has done as Secretary of State. Even Trump.

Really? What things, in particular? Don't get me wrong, that's not a rhetorical question, I'm legitimately curious. There's a lot about Clinton's reputation that doesn't make sense to me based on the brief research I've done.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

People really need to just stop paying him this kind of attention. Hilarious as he may be, the GOP is very nearly a car without a driver right now. It might be too late to keep it from hitting someone, but the solution isn't to drop a brick on the gas pedal.

Her warhawkery maybe?

I'm also wondering what things in particular though.

@baffler: I don't think even dropping a brick on the brakes would be enough, more like a 10 ton brick on the car itself.
