Advanced quantum computers should be able to match or at least nearly match neurons for space efficiency, so a house-sized computer isn't needed just to sustain a conscious being. Since you still haven't provided any numbers, just "huge," I'm going to propose a 10x4x4m computer bank.

Because that would be boring sounding. (Also the AI run on quantum computers, making them trinary, not binary.)

Well, the Greek alphabet's not exactly exciting either, is it? Even if the whales help out a bit.

Anyway, probably best for me not to try and be a wiseass about your unpublished lore, as this can only end in me looking like a complete tosspot.

So, the entire thing banks on the fact that this is something no one has ever tried before, so people going in prepared might have a chance. If they just wanted to get rid of unimportant people, why would they bother with the pretense of an expedition in the first place? That only makes sense if the person they were trying to get rid of was some kind of scientific authority or other figure with too much influence to simply assassinate. Everyone else thinks it's a suicide mission, but the entities funding/supplying this have been convinced that there's a small chance at least they'll get a return on their investment. Let's assume some bright spark pitched the idea, and the crew are volunteers unless otherwise stated.

Ah, so it's one of those learning experiences where sane businessmen find out exactly why one shouldn't take a bright spark's word for it.

Anyway, let's put together a second sheet.

Will the ship have at least one small turret with a boarding hook and an automatic musket turret?

The majority of weapons will be computer controlled turrets. No boarding hooks and muskets.

Just to be clear, you are joking around right? There seem to be some heated arguments from people taking joke suggestions seriously.

By this point, seems like it's less taking the suggestion seriously and more just aggressively no-selling a joke to drive home the point that it's unwanted and not actually funny.

The no-selling is more annoying than the joke to me.

I'm with KJ. My first action will be to glue a harpoon on the bow so that everyone involved can move on to more useful things, like making a character which is Alien Kirk, or counting to one million backwards.

Alright. I'm going to nix further discussion of old-timey pirate ships in space, whalers on the moon, etc. because it just results in an endless cycle of people making the same jokes and other people bringing out the same arguments as to why it's not realistic.

Anyway I just edited my character sheet to include a backstory which should hopefully translate to skills.  The job I want my guy to take is mechanic.

You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

Suggestion: Name our as-yet nebulous ship

We require additional pylons
We need a name for our ship. Any suggestions?

Didn't people already agree on "Aelius" or something of that nature?
