I vote that if TheDarkStar sets up a character that we nominate him head captain supreme of the Royal Dreadnought of the Armokkian Federation's Flagship of Superior Hookage! But seriously you thought I was joking! Well at least about flintlocks, We need a Chrome Hook and Cyborg Battle Parrots!

TBH we'd gotten to page 10 before I realized "Oh crap! There's someone with the same name on this board!" Which is inexcusable, since we'd played minecraft together for most of the summer.

I think captainism should be determined by character abilities, rather then metagame username.

Kevak - Pretty much nobody who's signed up is really in any way fit for the Captain. We've got a couple of beat-em ups, a few science officers, and Miscellaneous. And of course, NoFunIDoEverythingOnBoardSoThere, the AI

Then why don't we go on who would have had the highest millitary ranking? It makes sense to me for the person who was highest ranked to have that position.

You don't have to have a traditional chain of command if you don't want to, but you should probably decide upon some system of authority.
