Oh yeah, you did that when I posted my route... :D Give me a rest, I did imgur FP, answered 300 messages, went to a museum, did a tour to Northkorea and still check bay12. All in the same day. :P

Oh, I never do any coding. I cant code, you didnt knew that? I just shuffle around DF raws.

PS: Still, work is paying off. 3 out of 4 posts made front page, so I assume I get swamped with messages tomorrow. And here I thought I'd finally start to cycle again... ^^

Is anyone else experiencing a ton of crashes which render you unable to play fortress mode? I know it is basically an alpha at this stage but the quantity of crashes makes fortress mode unbearable. I'm running the latest ( 0.06 ) and I use the AutoButcher, AutoLabor, and Workflow plugins, the crashing persists throughout all the races. Not sure if there's logs or not but I'll check and edit.

runedog: thats trouble. I had no crashes while testing, do you have error logs? any PEAT entry? Do you change tilesets from the default?

Are you running any Fortress Defense races?  I had tons of crashes until I fixed the 2 handed sword weapon entry in the raws for them (pandas, badgers, tigers and nightwings, iirc).  Been clean since then (though I did have to regenerate the world).

I'll be playing, getting my fortress started, and then all of a sudden *crash* and I'll lose all of it.

The bottom four are enabled apparently. I'll disable them.

Just double checking, but with the version 0.006, to disable the aquifer, do I need to manually edit the raws to remove the aquifer entry?
I really want to see 40.X and what has already been done with masterwork, but those damn rocks are something I really can't get used to, and wreaking the soil layers to punch through it just feels wrong to me.

So, I was playing around, and I noticed something.

Plant gathering is much more efficient than in the old DF version, making it worthwhile to do it even with no/low skill, and medium skilled dwarves managed to bring back enough in half a year to make food and drinks for at least a full year.

If you also add gathering fruits from trees, and maybe a bit of fishing on the side, you can feed your fort pretty well without having to farm.

I'm not complaining, but it does feel a bit too easy to have massive amounts of alcohol and food for the first few years.
At least, I guess it makes it viable to embark with little to no food and drinks now, so that's that.
