However, once I have my fort up, when I check with "c," it tells me that my dwarven civ is the only one. I am not getting snatchers, ambushes or sieges, which is making my fort suffer a lack of FUN.

Incidentally, a dwarf caravan arrived recently, and this one had a goblin race liaison.

Afaik that's pretty normal. The civ list is empty until some other civ shows up in your fort, and the goblin liason just shows that your civ has been conquered and the nobles are goblins. Or maybe that's just a lone goblin that decided he/she is a dwarf. A non-dwarf noble is old news.

The inverse is also possible. Cause goblins that get thier teeth kicked in by dwarves during worldgen tend to take all the nobility's jobs by virtue of having a suddenly much longer life expectancy under dwarf overlords than they normally would, allowing them to outlive and in the process of just avoiding dying horribly (or in some cases, old age,) usurp the dorfs while still considering themselves dorfs.

i had this thought for a while meph, can there be a workshop produce sand for glass making, that preserves the boulder. (i mean sand is free right?)

other random thought, kobold thieves still use large daggers of metal while playing other races? =)

They will be assigned a random inorganic. Same at embark, you might be lucky and get a good axe, because that is added by default.

I may add a reaction for iron, so that the invaders at least have "good" weapons and that you can chose to embark with it.

Playable Elves! There, I just super-belatedly added my suggestion to this thread.

I haven't stopped by these forums in a few months, but it looks like I have lots of exciting changes to play through.

It was mentioned here. I figured I'd just demonstrate some interest, because FOR SOME REASON, everyone around here tends to be fairly anti-elf.

Oh yeah, you did that when I posted my route... Give me a rest, I did imgur FP, answered 300 messages, went to a museum, did a tour to Northkorea and still check bay12. All in the same day.
