thanks meph I will deal with the glitch till I get a new computer here in a month or two that would be able to handle a newer operating system, but I like Masterwork so far I am still getting a hang of the various changes/additions to the game.

I got a couple of how do I questions.
Is their a way to disable aquifers in world gen, or is it currently not implimented?
and how do I change which race I play as in fortress mode, or is the cubi and gnomes not implemented enough for that step yet?

you should be able to disable aquifer in the gui (perhaps it is off by default already), as for the 2 extra races, you have to activate 'playable in fort mode' in the races tab.

thanks I found the toggle for it I just didn't look hard enough and as far as the aquifer goes their isn't a setting in settings --> general world section or any of the world gen tab unless I just can't see it. on world gen when I am choosing embark the bioms list aquifers in various sites but I haven't actually came across any in the two or three fortresses I have played since I found the launch hit box.

Thanks Boltgun for the help.

With the other races not showing up, have you genned a new world since you changed the settings?

Also, when picking an embark site, Tab over to the Civilization list, select a different civilization, then check the race again.  Different civilizations have different races, and I think it defaults to Dwarves if they are available.

Aquifer settings in the GUI are under Misc. Features -> Balance Changes. Should be the top one there.

From what I can tell, it isn't in my version of V0.000004

Here's what I've got, I even checked the old version I had of 6.1.7z and that had it where people are saying, however, this version did not.

Having spent time in some of the crappier gaming communities, I have to say B12 is awesome. Seriously. This place is amazing.

The elasticity values (xxx at yield) for volcanic metal are twice as high compared to steel. Is it intended? Weren't those 'the lower the better'?

Also, I think there might be something wrong with invaders. In one of my fortresses I had no visitors for 5 years, in the other in 7 years I only had 2 ambushes by combined goblin/succubi force and one undead siege. (Both worlds have populated enemy civs, and I made sure to settle somewhat close to them. Is there a way to look at the exact requirements for a civ to lay siege?)

One last thing, the hardened leather/scaleplate/etc. armor isn't always correctly recognized by dwarves. Of all things they completely refuse to wear gloves as 'leather handwear', and since the squad equip screen lists individual chitin/scale/etc. material for each beast as opposed to general 'rough xxx' variant and doesn't have leather greaves or gauntlets at all, I am not sure how to make the instruction more specific.

That aside, thanks for all your work. Masterwork is my favorite mod since forever and it stands up to its name. Even the alpha reborn version, while light on features compared to the classic, is well-thought-out and fun to play. Can't wait for the next release. :)

Elasticity is the slope of the line defined by the yield stress and the deformation at yield, so the deformation alone doesn't tell the story.

i haven't looked up the raws in question for Masterwork Reborn, but in old masterwork Volcanic actually has the exact same rate of deformation as steel.  It can absorb twice as much force before it fails, but it deforms twice as much before it fails, so the slope is the same.

Yeah, if the YIELD is double, then double the STRAIN_AT_YIELD means that the relevant stress/strain value (young's modulus, shear modulus or bulk modulus) is the exact same.

STRAIN_AT_YIELD is, of course, stress/stress/strain (yield/modulus), AKA literally just strain... which is 1. Odd.

Well it's supposed to be twice as good as steel according to its commentary. So with every other value doubled as is, I figured 'at yield' values should be the same as steel (or lower) but not doubled?
But I am not an expert in raws so I am not going to claim anything, it just struck me as odd.

I got an update about the gui issue that I had. It turns out that their is xp .net 4 updates that allow me to view the whole gui without issue they are just not included with the updates thru windows microsoft update, i got mine thru installing a couple of games thru steam, so I now have full gui. I thought I would share this with the community for those in the now or future that will try to use masterwork reborn via xp.

[edit:]I belive the extra package I needed was .net framworks 4 extended which I am unable to find a link to a windows/microsoft site for future referance.
