Let's all head Southwest as far as we can without breaking this current formation.

2nd Field Engineers Platoon move toward Gastoon
3rd Platoon, officer and Howitzer start moving south to pass between those two small forests.

Here's what I suggest commander: I'll move the howitzer to this position: with the elevation from the hill, I can cover both Gastoon and much of the front line. If you agree, I propose to build a gun position there.

That looks like a mighty fine spot to me. They'll have an uphill battle to get there, and it could be made even worse with some proper application of barbwire.

I plan on building trenches in the following spots, with red diamonds representing the placements. The blue will represent the finalized range, and the red lines represent proposed places to lay out barbwire to try and toughen our defenses. The circled area is still something that needs to be worked out, a defensible spot held by soldiers and infantry with the supplement of trenches and barb wire should suffice. The red 'x' is where I suggest a soldier is placed in Gastoon, due to its elevation.

Usher the troops further west, we must get to the position quickly.

Yeah, but you can only load one artillery piece on it at one time and nothing else. Also slight change to the pre-existing rules for the train, but it can now place a unit anywhere along its line in one round at the cost of eight supplies instead of ten tiles for five.

So I didn't give any real information on how exactly the train effects play, and such which was a massive oversight on my side. I'll go ahead, and give a full explanation of it (please note I'm still not very sure about the train's second bonus).

Sorry for no update up until now, I'm working on it but the first few days of school, and the fact that I've gotten mildly ill have been detracting from the amount of actual work I've managed to get done recently. I'm hoping to have the turn done in two, maybe three days. Once again sorry for the lack of an update.

Move west as instructed. Sharpshooters are to be left where they are however.

Day 1, 03:00 - Meet the Gastoon Milita

Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Map Key (click to show/hide)

Quote from: Objectives, and Field Conditions
Weather: Crystal Clear with a side of Bright, and Shiny

Border Train Status: Currently able to provide its services to your unit.

Supply Income: +30 per day(20 base income + 10 from Sheb)
Current Supplies: 125 Supplies
Requisition Income: +5 per day(5 from Immaterial)

News from Home: As of now things are quiet.

Primary
Defend the North: Prevent any enemy units from breaking through to your deployment zone, should any ever reach the deployment zone then they are free to ravage the poorly defended Northern bastions. Completion of this Objective takes priority above all others on pain of death, failure to carry out this order will result in an immediate Execution of all Officers in charge of the Regiment, and redistribution of the failed Regiment's resources.
   - Success: Keep enemies from reaching the deployment zone outlined in red.
   - Failure: Five enemy units reach the deployment zone.

Secondary
Fortify the Town of Gastoon:  Command has sent down orders that the 23rd are to fortify the border town of Gastoon, its position along the railway and abundant harvests have made it a vital asset to the war effort. The officers sending the orders threaten with possible cuts to your supply lines if you fail to achieve the objective, but promise a bonus if you can get the town ready to throw off attacks with a small garrison.
  - Success: Move to Gastoon, and garrison it with at least one company. And erect defenses around the town to prepare for possible attacks.
       - Rewards: +30 supplies the next day.
  - Failure: If either no defenses exist in, or near Gastoon. Or there is no company garrisoning the town.
       - Penalty: -5 to Supply Income for Four Days.

Lieutenant Derrick Webb
The move west continues at a slow pace that only makes you all the more glad that the weather hadn't turned sour on your regiment this day.

Sergeant Mikenzee
Your company continues westward cutting through the forest on its way to the town of Gastoon.

Sergeant 'White Skull' White
Leaving your Sharpshooters to watch over the eastern flank of the hill you follow the rest of your men westward in the hopes of setting up at least a rudimentary defensive position along the edge of the hill facing southward.

Cavalry Sergeant Lefield
Your cavalry come within a good viewing range of the town of Gastoon roughly the same time as Sergeant Cordic's light cavalry arrive in town, much to your surprise you see a number of the townsfolk working in the fields, or chatting around outside as two groups of clearly armed farmers seem to be heading on a patrol around it. You know what they say, the frontier breeds a hardy people.

Artillery Sergeant Fersought
You continue southwest hoping to have the howitzer in an emplacement on the western ridge far before this day's out, from there your men should be more than able to provide fire support for the forces in the village and assist in fending off threats from the south.

Sergeant Cordic
While you head with the majority of your troops to scout out your surroundings for any sign of enemy activity the 1st Light Cavalry makes it into the town of Gastoon to find the townsfolk up, and about working the fields and chatting as if they weren't in one of the most dangerous areas in North America. They are met by one of two militia groups who eye the light cavalry warily and welcome the 'Safegaurd' regiments to their cozy towns. One man's words in particular are memorable,

"Welcome to the border to Hell, population 142 living souls."
