I always thought that "or else" was an idiom for an inspecific threat of bad consequences.

Of course, there is a distinct possibility that I didn't get the joke. Those damned native speakers!

The joke was that Meph asked for the threat to be specified and no threat materialized. :)

The joke was that Meph asked for the threat to be specified and no threat materialized. :)

Jaysus, I sure didn't expect a debate on humor here, but at least it didn't get ugly. I was actually afraid of being severely misinterpreted and end up banned. So that's a victory in my book.

The "or else" is an intentionally vague threat, so overused is rarely taken seriously.



I was actually expecting him to ask me to specify the threat and acted all clumsy and yadda yadda for comedic purpose. I would never threat the person who brought me back to Dwarf Fortress.

I was hoping for a threat, so that I can mention my time as a sniper as a counter. ;)

Are you a navy seal?

Is that a rhetorical question? :P Navy seals are part of the navy, which is part of the US military, which would make me a US citizen, and by that a native English (simplified) speaker. Ergo I can't be a navy seal, since I'm not a native English speaker.

I was a member of the special security squadron of the German airforce. Now I just like to cycle. See my sig. ;)

Being a German sniper? That's all cool and dandy, but dude, you created Dwarf Fortress Masterwork. Nothing you ever do will beat that.

Your logic is flawed. You can join the military if you immigrate to the US and still not be a native speaker.

Also, I really like how your cutting down a few of the things in the mod, and new playable races sounds great! I like it being as DF lore and game friendly as possible while still having the cool and new features. But I am sure I'll be able to do that using the GUI.  ;D   By the way, love the GUI option Meth! So when should I expect this? I know it's major work and I don't want to rush you its just I really want to use masterwork with the new DF update!   :)
