Is it able to plant the above ground plants on the farm
« on: January 05, 2015, 10:19:53 am »

Hi all!

If I have only one above ground tile in my underground farm, will I able to plant the above ground plants on this whole farm or not?

Thanks in advance.

No, it will not work.
If you select above ground crops to grow there, only the above ground tile will be used.
If you select subterranean crops to grow, your dwarves will plant the seeds on all tiles from left to right until they hit the aboveground tile, making the rest useless.

Not too sure if what I said is all correct but as far as I can remember it should be.

It will work if you expose the farm to the open air and then roof it over (it'll count as "above ground"), but you won't be able to grow underground crops on it anymore.
