I'll be there.
3 tier 1's and a monk, that would be amusing. With maybe a focus in summons.
To be fair, I'm only taking 2 levels in Monk and then going Tashalatora PsyWar the rest of the way.
It's three low-level weak and soft spell casters huddling behind a class that is seen as very sub-optimal. At least I have armour.
RAW Monk is suboptimal; Monk 2/PsyWar 18 is one of the best ways to make it viable (the other, obviously, is Monk/Ardent). And there are houserules, brah:
+automatic Proficiency: Unarmed Strike, gauntlets
+Gauntlets treated as an Unarmed Strike, can be enchanted as per other weapons
+The usual houserules related to BAB and attack actions
+Monk gets full BAB
+Tashalatora:
1. Monastic Training requirement waived
2. Counts psionic classes as Monk for ALL scaling abilities (Unarmed Strike damage, AC Bonus, Speed Bonus, Slow Fall progression)
Even base Monk isn't tier 5 in games using Wrex's houserules, and the stuff related to Tashalatora bumps it up into a solid tier 3 (very, very good at tanking and initiation, still useful for other functions, especially once the PsyWar stuff starts rolling in).
That said, I'm also the only one who elected to
not play a squishy caster, and we're already seeing the effects of that when we spent most of a session trying to break open chests 'cause we also don't have a skillful PC. Traps are gonna
suuuuck. 'sides, if I'd rolled up another caster we might have been wiped in that first encounter, since Ara wouldn't have put the leader down with that alpha strike and we would have eaten a
three-way crossfire.
