Welcome to how I feel on the Starbound thread.
Except this is totally justified

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Why not rename the refund thread into "No Man's Sky - 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 false promises to disprove"

Then people who want to talk about the game itself can, and the people who want to talk about the other stuff can do that there.

Whether or not the game is a hollow shell of what it was sold as, people are playing it, and want to talk about the actual game, so it would be good to let them have a place to do so.

And more and more I learn about this game.

Last time I thought the creators were being... intentionally misleading.

But... apparently I was giving them too much credit as, apparently, they outright lied right to the players.

And by lying I mean saying "X is the case" when "X is not the case"... Not implying, hypothesizing, imagining, or anything like that... "This is the case" when it wasn't the case.

Honestly at this point the only way for me to get a lower opinion of the developers for this game... is if they literally held people at gunpoint and forced them to buy this game. That is how low it has got.

>_< They somehow bumped Starbound out of its #1 slot.

Because originally when I made the "Refund thread" it was so people who were complaining could have some room to discuss and the people who liked the game wouldn't be constantly harassed by negativity. Mostly because I was REALLY REALLY pissed at the game and the developers but also noticed how tired people were of the complaining.

It is why the poll is kind of a joke.

What happened though was the people who liked the game migrated to the negativity thread in order to contest the negativity... making its existence sort of moot... But I guess I could spruce it up.

You're free to do so here, but you can't arbitrarily divide the discussion just because you don't agree with what people are talking about. If the main area of discussion is the issues with the game then that's a fair discussion to have - if the game had other things that people were really interested, then people would talk about that instead.

yeah, just bring on the posts with your experiences, instead of meta complaining , that surely won't bring the discussion anywhere

I wouldn't even call it mislead, there were just outright lies.

Rather than having people on the Internet get into a boring flame war ("It's a lie!", "No it's not!"), I want the courts involved in the process...to decide what are and are not material statements, and exactly how much damage did Sean's quotes cause to the plaintiffs (if it actually caused damage). The problem seems to be that lawsuits are expensive and can take a lot of effort for very little benefit. And there's no guarantee that the plaintiffs would have a "slam-dunk case" here.

I don't know if a court can charge someone with lying about a game (maybe false advertising but that sounds like there are technicalities for that specific charge), but you don't need a court to look at the ridiculously long list of things that Sean directly said were going to be in it, and weren't, to realize that he was just lying. The only other possible argument would be that he said what he wanted to game to be, but there is still a difference between "Yes you will be able to do that in the game" and "That's what we are aiming for".

I guess the actual problem would be the post-relase claims, like when they said that multiplayer is in but the scale is too big to ever encounter anyone.

By the way Damiac, I'm not sure why you don't talk about the game too there.
I mean, I'm the first to say that I don't like this game, but that doesn't mean that I haven't played it 10-20 hours and can talk about it, or help you have fun with it :)

By the way if there is ever something I can jump into to get refunds on No Man's Sky beyond Steam Refund (which I accumulated 7 hours so I can't).

Please PM me. Honestly... it isn't even about the money so much that I don't think the developer deserves me 60 bucks.

Have you tried requesting a refund anyway? A friend of mine got a refund and he had 5 hours of play time. Explain your reason in the refund request, worst they can do is say no.

From what I read on Reddit, you still can get a refund now, even with 10 hours played, as long as you complain... So you could still try :p

Hello games aren't the ones who do decide about the refund. Steam is. And they know it's a "shitty" release, where people will get angry if they can't refund.
