No! No Man Sky works perfectly. If it doesn't work it is because your doing something wrong. :P

can you link me a video where the devs stated the game would work on launch? if not, it's your fault for having unreasonable expectations :^]

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Well, I too am getting The Crash.

Do you have an ATI Card? As usual, I've only seen ATI folks talking about the opening crash.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

Well, you have two weeks to auto-refund it if you don't play, right?

Yeah, but I'm seeing NVidia folks complain too.

I'm reading that restarting steam might fix crashes. My game doesn't crash but instead the initiation sequence played in slow-mo(it was a really painful long wit to watch) and I get low fps(~15) on foot and when I got into my ship it took a dive to 4fps. I'm surprised to notice this game runs on opengl instead of directx though. Will try tweaking graphics and updating drivers just in case.

Edit: Seems that the setting for mouse sensitivity is broken, changing it sees no change in mouse sensitivity, even turning it down all the way to 0 did nothing :/

I bet just the options menu drove him nuts, it's a pain to change the simplest of settings due to the way changing anything in there works, seems to suffer heavily from consolitis, even down to the way the game engine works. The engine seems to be running on a 30fps basis, like other console ports, for example dark souls 3. And just like DS3, when you drop to 15fps, it slows down the engine to maintain accuracy because basic calculations are stupidly synced up with the graphical framerate.

Oh man, TB really, really, really hates this game.

Yikes.

> NMS on PC appears to run like absolute crap at the moment. Massive hitching and fps drops. #stoppreorderingvideogames
> This is Arkham Knight levels of bad.
> Yeah so the next time some jackass tells me to stop complaining about not getting pre-release review code. THIS IS WHY WE NEED THAT.
> I do not relish when PC versions come out in this state, not one little bit. But it's my job to tell you and save you money.
> My tolerance is tested by the awful performance issues but even without them I have to wonder how much holding down E I would want to do.
> Aight I'm not streaming any more of this, the hitching and random mouse spasms make it unwatchable. I'm gonna mess with settings for a bit
> Long story short, Steam forums are full of people complaining about tech problems, most streamers having tech issues, PC port BORKED #NMS
> Gonna do a bunch of testing with different setting combinations etc, put it on my laptop. See if there are any workarounds.
> The flood of "runs fine for me" has begun. I guess if you want to ignore 1000s of complaints on the Steam forum feel free.
> Welcome to PC gaming, sometimes shit runs differently on different configurations. Revelation I know.
> "Hey guys, there's a Zika epidemic right now" "That's not true, I'm fine"
> Hey guys, some people are starving in the world" "That's not true, I am eating a sandwich"
> The Windows 10 laptop with the i7-6800 and the 970m is running the game at 40fps right now with frequent hitching, latest drivers. Righto
> I am satisfied that I'm not wrong saying its borked. I'll put together the video then go play something else. Thanks for your help.
> So thats W7 rig with 1080 and W10 rig with 970m. All fully updated. I'll leave Digitalfoundry to do the rest, that'll do me just fine.

Welp, asked for a refund. If it won't work after trying every fix imaginable, I might as well get my money back.

I fiddled with graphics settings and grabbed Nvidia's beta opengl drivers and got performance to end up at an acceptable level. Had to lower my mouse dpi to avoid mouse horrors ingame though.
