Well, it's supposed to be out now, according to the timers. I know that this is rarely an accurate thing, but at least it's hilarious to watch the steam forums turn on themselves in desperation.
I thought it was coming out at 1pm EST, as in a bit under 1 hour from now

I don't see how some extra bug-crushing and standard ads(I went and looked at them, didn't find them to be fraudulent) excuses making such a disproportionately big deal about it though. I don't want to fuel this nonsense anymore than I already have so I'm going to leave it at this unless clarification is needed. I didn't follow the hype and based my expectations on actual gameplay footage and info from the devs themselves. Those expectations weren't overly high and looking at people play it on twitch, I'm not disappointed. The only thing bothering me is how big of a deal people made the game out to be without any fact-checking because they drank the koolaid and then how big of a misdirected deal they made of it after they turned out to be wrong.

I wouldn't know, because people insist on not using GMT for stuff, and I can't be arsed to know what EST or PST or whatever means.

Hmm I'm pretty sure the game is supposed to launch in the next hour. Unless I can't arithmetic anymore.  :P

Steam says it will be released in less than an hour for me, so 1pm est, yes.

Edit: Also, inb4 the explosion of angry people who will complain about server problems. There WILL be server problems, there almost always are server problems at launch. It's economically stupid and wasteful to build infrastructure based on opening peak usage. This is not just a game phenomenon, it applies to all sorts of infrastructure in life.

Okay, guess you'll just constantly be confused by exceedingly simple things like adding or subtracting hours according to a timezone.

Look, if people said EST (GMT-4) it would be perfect. Imagine, if you will, if I just kept saying "oh, it will happen 14:00 BRT". Do you know what BRT is (in GMT +/- X) without looking it up?

No, but it took me 10 seconds to type BRT to EST in google and find out that 1pm EST is 2pm BRT apparently since BRT is 1 hour ahead

Stop with the marketing talk. Stop with the time conversion techniques.
We're finally getting our hands on the game after the console peasants duplicated items and exploited the game as much as they could just they could pretend they are good at videogames.
Rejoice.  :P

Dude, I already told you. You need to pretend to be nice peasants if you want to tax them properly.

But the game can be played offline, right? Just won't be able to upload your discoveries or see other player-made names?

If not, then the game is off the table for me due to practical reasons unfortunately.

Actually, even if I didn't need offline, I think I would prefer to go without the universe filled with "dank meme" and dick-names all over the place.

Yep, offline play works fine you just don't get discoveries.
