D&D 3.5 Democracy Game: A Monk's Journey
« on: January 02, 2015, 01:47:03 am »

My current IRL group is very inconsistent and I want to GM. However, I don't want to juggle multiple player characters and subplots and infighting using this format. So I came up with a solution. The entire forum, by majority rule, will act as a player in a solo campaign. It's going to be pretty heavily influenced by martial arts movies, so if you like that kind of thing, you should probably enjoy this campaign.

A young monk sets out from the monastery to find his own path, and to also find the truth about what happened to his village.

Limitations:
Level 1
Class: Monk
Races: Nothing inherently evil, aquatic, smaller than medium or larger than large.
Books: Unfortunately, I don't actually have the Oriental Adventures book. I do have most of the other D&D 3.5 edition rulebooks.
Abilities: 32 point-buy system.
Alignment: Any Lawful. If evil, the character must outwardly appear neutral or good.
Starting Gold: 5d4 x 10 gp

Submit sheets and vote. Remember, there's only going to be one character.

[Also, as a warning, I'm not a very experienced GM and I tend to bend the rules according to whats best for the story and is the most fun.]

Oh dear, this again. You might want to look up the last time someone tried one of these "everyone controls a D&D character together" games.

* Tawarochir raises hand

I don't think mine actually went all too badly. Then again, things veered quickly into comedy territory and we lost it.

Anyway, I think I still have Ryurist the Dwarf Monk sitting around. I'll link him tomorrow. Got my first ever critical with him, too. *sniff* Was good time.

I have to say that he may be right. But if you think it could work go for it.

Ryurist the Dwarf Monk

I keep the links to all characters from my games.

I think the game will go pretty well if I don't play it too straight. A little levity and some incentive to keep the game moving should keep it alive.

I guess I'll take that as two votes for Ryurist. However, I need a sheet that Isn't being used for another game. Any other entries?

Nerjin dropped that game ages ago, actually. Ryurist effectively ceased to exist.
