18th Malachite
Today we traded ridiculous amounts of crafts with the humans for lots of metal armor, bars, and beer. The metal is being smelted down at the magma forges,

I call this rest stop "forgeton"
the bars are being picked over by a moody craftsman, and the beer is going down thirsty gullets. In return, they got about three hundred collectible figurines of the Dead Urns, whatever that is.

19th Malachite
Moody dwarf doesn't want this shiny metal, she wants different shiny metal. Probbably Iron. Tough luck sweetie, I don't even think the mountainhomes has that - they probbably smelted it all into steel decades ago.

Enclosed are some pictures the newly-re-elected mayor Dumat drew of the ground floor and upwards.

Oh, and one last thing- We just had migrants! About 80 of us now!

And this guy.

DOUBLEDIT:

Immediately followed, of course, by a High Master Gelder.

5th Galena
Congratulations, Sigun!

In-progress summary of fight, apologies for bumping this poststreak up to 3, the post editor isn't playing ball.

1) Everything on the surface forbidden
2) Zombies ate the fishermen (always handy)
3) Formed all hunters to squad, pincushioned the necro, he got away because so much for dwarven railguns.
4) Goblin corpse somehow got into the &^%!ing diging room, all the dwarves dived out and the squad which included the hammerlord and a macelord who apparently became a macelord and didnt tell me was sent in, wrecked it.
5) corpses chase in the gateway, dwarves are out there trying to harvest, SEND IN THE MILLITIA
6) macelord kills a bunch
7) The named wrestler vanishes
8) more golbins come, the swordsrecruits cut one up, macelord crushes the heads.
9) Oh that's where the wrestler went, he climbed the perimeter wall and jumped into the middle of the horde
10) wow he actually killed like three of them before having his head broken apart.
11)
12):Millitia Captain "Dorsidwarf" leads a stupid charge into the fray
13) His dabbling sword novices are all killed in less than a second
14) Hammerlord and macelord kicking serious ass
15) One zombie left, necro has royally fucked off
16) This one killed the wrestler
17) He just jammed a shield hrough the hammerlord's brain. Guess your aunt should have made the fucking helmets I told her to, huh?
18)Macelord runs around him, smashes his arm clean off, then crushes his whole upper body into pulp.
19) Siege lifted.

edit: Whoah the macelord just stood up, so she was injured, on the ground, scooting about like a rabbit, and swung with enough force to shatter it's whole body. I see good things coming from her, once she gets out of the hospital. Good thing I spent all that time making a cistern and well!

That wrestler was awesome. Good job getting through the first necro siege.

Also, is our corpse stockpile set up right next to the dining room? Genius!

My friends, the fun seems to have started.  I knew it was a good idea to embark near a tower.    ;D

Wait how did that even happen?

Oh ... nevermind. Apparently the one year old Kivish Ilidcatten is strong enough to take on a GCS. I don't even...

This is the reason why I wanted year 3, and why I had been creating a militia. Too bad abut that wrestler: I thought that he could really be someone. Can you put a new wrestler into the squad?
Also, I thought that putting the refuse pile near the entrance would be a good idea. I also appreciate the fact that those caged animals really did do something worthwhile.

The purple overseer hat weights heavily on one's head. Some would argue that the leadership of Doomforest is uneasy to bear for too long. Others would simply suggest that we don't craft the next overseer hat out of rutile.

Also, for the sake of curiosity, what happened to the grizzly bear? Do you still have the combat logs?

So did the Necromancer escape?

If so, can I request that one of the overseers between now and my own turn start working on getting some Macedwarves up and running?

1) Necromancer escaped

2)Most deaths were use-impaired fishermen

3) The bears stayed right where they were, because they aren't war-trained and I don't want zombie grizzlies.

Terabalt, I'll add you to the list.

Dorsidwarf, you still have four days to finish your turn, but after that, you will forfeit.

This looks like a party  :)

I'd like to request a turn.

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

There isn't much middle ground between killed-by-dragon and never-seen-by-dragon.

Sorry about the lack of updates, Shadowgraves shall resume shortly Exams and stuff.

Shortly in this case meaning maybe an hour at most.

EDIT:
6th Limestone.
The smell of death lingers around the corpse, not helped by the miasma room filling up. There are many deaths - civilians refusing to obey orders to return inside, and marksdwarves ripped to shreds. And the poor swordsdwarves. Torn apart in instants by the lightning-fast zombies, too eager to join the fray. A brave sacrifice by "Dorsidwarf" alilkel, risking all to train the less-skilled dwarves. He will be mi-

He just walked past my office. How in the?

He says he's been down in the forges, why? Has something happened?

When I tell him we were invaded, he simply shrugs and says "Well, we aren't any more. Time to go train the lads!"

I don't have the heart.

Sigun the Hammer Lord was Rith's mother.

Her compatriot, Muthkat, is already out of hospital, but two dwarves remain, wounded. At least they shall not die of dehydration.

We have finished the grim task of counting the dead, most of whom are being carried to the tomb as I write.
