I think we forgo the peasants and rush as many military units as possible. If they have any sort of army at all, and we defeat them, we'll hve enough soldiers for a counterattack.

Then again, I'm only the blue science advisor

Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.
Just make sure he wears a boot.

It'll take about 2 minutes to train all the military units we have on queue if I'm wrong, and peasants would be useful to use as meatshields/diversions until we can get a moderate military to deal with them. Besides, we have towers. If we can lure Purple to them, then we'll pretty much win this battle without casualties.
Citizens are also only set to train if necessary, anyways.

Edit: Also, if I'm not wrong, we can't actually rush any troops.

This. You can trade any resourse except knowledge.

Also, your citizens start with the "To Arms" ability, so they aren't useless in a fight. Pitchforks, yo.
