+1 Not only that, imagine the great story it would make: "Did I ever tell you about the time I carried a dozen saddlebags all across bandit filled wilderness, filled with people ready to ambush me, with nobody to aid me but my warhorse Dog and my dog Cat?"

1: Thieves could steal the gold while we're asleep. I mean, if this was a conventional video game, I'd say fuck it because you can go a year without sleeping in virtually every video game ever made, but in this case the author might actually punish us for our overconfidence.

I loaded the gold into Dog's saddlebags and continued on my way. The journey went well for the first half, but I knew that it was too good to be true. Sure enough, halfway back to Tornassa, a large group of bandits attacked.

I struck out at the bandits with chain-lightning. (Needs 85 Conjuration)
I created an illusionary fog. (Needs 65 Illusion)
I cast a spell of fear upon the bandits. (Needs 85 Enchantment)

I let the bandits have the money.

It was frustrating to watch them take the money and leave, but there was nothing I could do about it. At least I got away with my life.

1) I decided to focus on Alchemy. (62)
2) I decided to focus on Conjuration. (7)
3) I decided to focus on Divination. (100)
4) I decided to focus on Enchantment. (21)
5) I decided to focus on Healing. (100)
6) I decided to focus on Illusion. (7)
7) I decided to focus on Necromancy. (48)
8) I decided to focus on Summoning. (56)
9) I decided to focus on Transmutation. (17)
10) I continued to study a little bit of everything.

ILLUSION

every gods-damn time I say this and it could've saved us a literal cart-load of money in this instance.

I maintain you're all a bunch of fools :P

Enchantment could be quite useful.

Enchantment keeps coming up as a possible weapon in battles, and it's our highest skill that would have provided a method of success in that last one, so I'm with Arcvasti:
