Cat never left my side.

You're probably wondering when my magical training began. I became a mighty wizard, after all, yet so far my story has been about my childhood. I was fifteen years old when I left my job as a scribe.

I stole a magic ring from a sorcerer who visited my village. (Needs 10 Thievery)
1) My parents told me a family secret.
2) I had seen enough magic in my life to know that I wanted to be a wizard.

1. Deciding you want to be a wizard isn't really tragic, especially since we know Gorl's gonna become one. The other option has at least a chance of tragedy.

They told me that I came from a long line of necromancers and that my grandfather had been particularly powerful. They said that evil magic ran in my blood, and I should go to the Academy to learn how to use it.

1) I decided that I would go to the Academy and learn to harness this powerful magic.
2) I decided to go to the Academy, but I wouldn't use this vile magic.

I hoped that the Academy would help me to control this side of my nature. A sword wasn't considered evil by itself because it depended on how it was wielded. I hoped that Necromancy could be the same.

I was nervous about going to the Academy; I didn't think that a troll would be allowed entry. But I decided that I would try anyway and see what happened.

I knew I needed a horse to get to the Academy. It was in the royal city of Tornassa, many miles away.

1) I purchased a horse for 75 gold. (Needs 75 Gold)
I stole a horse. (Needs 25 Thievery)
2) I chose to borrow the money.

I named it...
