I saw half of the first episode but I have an excellant grasp as to the nature of magic in the setting, Also I didn't mean full on I am Robocop level cybernetics, Just a few simple metal/wooden parts such as a Highly Modified Pirate Hook or something, Also an Untrained Drunken Brawler smiting a gang of Skilled Fire-Benders, Just picture that.

In that case, you might have improbable luck and improvising skills as traits, like Sokka or General Bumi.

Either way I'm getting some pretty good ideas for the back-story, Also Untrained doesn't necessarily mean unarmed and incapable, A glass bottle to the face is a glass bottle to the face regardless of whether you're a Bender. Can I start with a criminal record?

Yeah, Chi-blocking would be more than difficult while drunk. You'd have to be pretty skilled to begin with from the chi-blocker I know about. Don't know if there were more in Korra.

It's done by rapidly striking pressure points along the body. Ty Lee in the first show did it, and the Equalists in season 1 of Korra had it as their main thing.

Also useful against non-benders because it can cause temporary paralysis. Requires agility and precision, though.

they had a small army of them in season 1. also metalbenders and lightning benders out of the ass. the only things that stayed rare is bloodbending and combustion bending. we also got lava bending, which is just ten kinds of silly.
