Oh, I know random.org very well. Is good.

As for stats/rolls, I was thinking of having each character get a certain number of skills/traits that provide bonuses in relevant situations, with the ability to gain more or level them up. I'm open to suggestions, though.

The thing about stats systems is we'd have to come up with some stats. Which I'd be open to, if people want it.

I like Trait systems, As for stats why not make them less important than traits, For example odds are it won't matter how tough you are for a human when somebody hits you in the face with a fireball, And a boulder would do way more damage than a punch and so on. Wait a minute weren't the Legends Of Korra somewhat steampunk, If so would playing as a Cyborg/ Full-On Robot be out of the Question?

Legend of Korra is approximately 1920's level technology (with a few notable absences and additions) and the current premise for this game is 27 years after the time of the fourth season, in the midst of a sort of cold war. So cybernetics is a bit of a stretch, but 40's-level stuff (and a few other things) might be available.

Since I put a warning in the OP, should I not do them in the thread?
Also, who's seen the show?

I'm probably late for this, but I'm certainly interested as well. I've seen both shows, if that matters.

Not late at all. In fact, we've barely begun the planning.

Interest interest interest interest.
Do I need to know both shows? I've seen TLA, but only finished the first two on TLOK.

The current premise uses stuff from up to about the halfway point of the 4th season of Korra, but that's mainly for if you care about spoilers. If you don't care about spoilers, this game can be played by people who know nothing about Avatar.

Oooh. I wanna be a bloodbender. Of course, I'd be pretty useless in combat unless it was a full moon.

You can be a bloodbender, using it during the full moon and other waterbending at other times. Amon (or at least Tarrlock) levels of special bloodbending would make it cooler, but there is a balance issue there. Perhaps, if you wanted to specialize in that, you might be able to progress to that level of bloodbending later?

Yay character progression. Will we start off with average or below average combat and or bending skills, and work our way up?

Average, perhaps somewhat skilled. Non-combat/non-bending characters are possible (and even good), too, given what's in the setting. Weapon masters, chi-blockers, engineers, gurus, etc. A character can have multiple skills, subject to balance. I'd encourage people to come up whatever character they want (that fits the setting), and then I'd balance it for the game.

would non-bender characters get other perks to make for starting (and staying, probably) with a huge handicap?

Aside from primarily non-combat characters, non-bending characters would probably be skilled in such a way to put them on more even footing (weapon specialist, martial arts, chi-blocking, for instance), or specialize in something that puts them in a position where benders have less of an advantage over them (stealth, piloting vehicles, etc).

I saw half of the first episode but I have an excellant grasp as to the nature of magic in the setting, Also I didn't mean full on I am Robocop level cybernetics, Just a few simple metal/wooden parts such as a Highly Modified Pirate Hook or something, Also an Untrained Drunken Brawler smiting a gang of Skilled Fire-Benders, Just picture that.
