Question: how is the army loss from using gas attacks exactly determined?
For example, If I were to attack with 6 armies, and I use gas attack, would that destroy 1 or 2 armies?

Only 1 army. You'd lose 2 at 8+ armies.

Fine. But I'll need Toaster to decide whether he wants to go with the incorrect lower bonus due to me forgetting airfield or the rerolled results.

No need for any rerolling, with the bonus the battle would have gone exactly the same way. Just look at the numbers. Yes, there is a tie in the original roll, but that troop was accidently killed instead of retreated, so it works out the same way.
And toaster, you had to decide wether you would like your results rerolled with the bonus or keep them as they are. But again, that is not needed. Also, you had 70 % chance of winning that battle, so rerolling really favors you.

On a side note, why is it that no one responds to my diplomatic offers? I mean, I understand if you reject them, or try to change them, but at least say something please.

It'd be silly to reroll if the bonus didn't actually make a difference.  Let it stand is the fair choice.

For what it's worth, keeping the rolls and just changing the bonus is how I deal with those situations in my game.

Not you in particular, was primarely pointing towards ebbor. The deal regarding you and toaster may be a little bit too complex and long-term to continue.
