Direction and size doesnt play role in targeting system now. As kobold you can perfectly fine bite dragon in his tail and then in head using other teeth (but it will not end well).

When I read that, I think that must a kill shot, but it's just DF weirdness like the eldritch abomination-style of grappling where you grab the back tooth of your opponent with your upper leg and throw them.

OH DEAR ARMOK, I JUST REALIZED TO SEE IF I CAN THROW THE HELMETS WHEN GRAPPLING....

I was getting frustrated with mangled corpses while playing with a "McSashi" dorf, just ridiculous sword+dodging skills and a 2h sword I swapped the attacks for the blunt one from the war hammer and made out of nether cap with dfhack, it was fun having the risk of death due to no armor and needing to strike/dodge and generally be careful, but I kept finding people in helmets I couldn't just skullbash until they dropped, so I tried to wrestle, grabbed the helmet and then moved to one side to maintain possession.

Didn't even think to throw them... son of a...

You should try one handed weapons and no armor/shield.  parry and dodge your way into our hearts.

Wrestling feels nerfed a little in 40.xx, but parry is excellent.

I was disappointed to find that no matter how strong I was, I can't just grab someone by the heart...

Oh, I checked, you can't pick to throw the helmet until you actually gain possession, so I was accidentally right in my "wrestle > grab helmet > move around the creature > peg it or something running with the helmet" strategy. Which is similar to my other strategy of "pocket any hands or heads I find which I could animate, and throw them at fleeing opponents then reanimate them" I got to use for the first time earlier.

I once stabbed a pig in the tongue from behind, and the injured part was cloven asunder.

Once you've grabbed the item, press shift+i and choose the item.

If you add the [EMBEDDED] tag to an internal body part, you will be able to gouge it while wrestling even though you can't target it otherwise.  Adding it to hearts will let you do a Temple of Doom style heart-gouge attack while grappling the upper body with your hand.  No ripping it out, though.

I think wrestling was buffed. You can successfully, grab, pinch, and throw an enemy in the time it would take you to execute a number real attack. You're also no longer defenseless against attacks as if you have a decent observer skill you can grab whatever the enemy is using to attack you and stop the attack. Strangling was also fixed so you can actually kill people through strangling again. All of this combined means you could grab an enemy's neck, put them in a stranglehold, block the attack that's about to hit you, then choke them knocking them out quite easily. I have felt like on average I'm missing my wrestling attacks more than I used to, but I think that's because I'm splitting my points between wrestling and striking so I barely get any skill in either.

It would be awesome if you could grapple your enemies' internal organs if their upper or lower body was torn apart. It would also be awesome to just punch through them, grab their heart and squash it, but I'm asking too much even from Toady.

If you slash something's lower body then it's guts might spill out and you can Tarrytown in standard attacks. Not sure about wrestling though. The token that does it is [UNDER_PRESSURE] or something similar. It'd be a bit strange just adding that to all organs as it doesn't fit quite right, but if you really want that, it is kind of possible.

Yeah, I've found out earlier while grappling a Wolverine. I ripped open its lower body, and then pinched its guts. As they sailed off into an arc on the floor, I grabbed them and threw them at it.

It's pretty awesome! Dwarf Fortress never ceases to amaze me with its complexity.

The first picture of guts released was an elven trader who got mauled by zombie wildlife.  It was awesome to see its guts trailing behind it after it got back up

Presumably any organ under pressure will dangle out visibly, which gives me an idea . . .
