Oddly enough, I never beat Starcraft, or any of the Warcraft games (only played 2 and 3, but I watched my brother play the original once) because I was usually playing Use Map Settings online...
It's almost tradition, every month and a half or so I'll play through most of the Warcraft III campaign.

Last time I was playing through Warcraft III I was determined to play through on hard. I ended up getting stuck on the human mission where you have to hold of the scourge until Uther arrives. I was determined to complete all the secondary objectives of protecting the outer villages which rather reduces defenders.

Currently the Marvel Heroes 2015 thing, f2p MMO.  Yea, it has a cash shop for heroes and a ton of other stuff, but... all heroes and a buncha other things can be unlocked without paying a dime.  But... storage space for more items, it requires monies.

And Payday 2.  Wherein inspiration: "Get the fuck up."

I can manage to get through that one on my second try (by cheesing it and hiding some buildings out of the way so there's not enough time for them to be destroyed by the final wave) but where I tend to give up on hard is the second Undead mission, where you have to, appropriately enough, kill Uther. See, he has Divine Shield, right? Well he uses it a lot. And if you want to kill him you have to spend about ten minutes and many, many ghouls because of how frequently he can use it and the rate his health and mana regenerates.

Seconded.
Between Diablo3, Path of Exile, and Marvel Heroes 2015, the latter gets my vote for best game in the genre atm, easily.

I too am playing Marvel Heroes 2015.  It nicely satisfies my penchant for alts, superpowers, and stomping hordes of enemies.

Also:
Craft the World (though I think I'll be moving on from this one soon, after 40 hours played)
Might & Magic X - Legacy (it's ok, but not great; I keep putting it off to play other games)
Cataclysm DDA (got my psychopathic cannibal clown past the initial survival stage now)
Door Kickers (fun little game for filling 20 minutes here and there)

And a backlog of games from the Steam sale(s) that I've not touched yet, not sure which to move onto after I'm done with the ones above.

Mostly Red Faction.

I'm actually quite a terrible shot most of the time.

Mostly Red Faction.
The original? I remember back when I first played it I thought it was so cool and revolutionary how the environments were destructible (At least, the parts that were destructible...)

Yep. Just got it on sale from GOG. My official entry into FPS land.

Unless the Metroid Prime series counts...

Red faction guerilla was my personal favorite. All the ones after that I had no interest in what so ever. Like completely different games after guerilla.

Lately I've been in a particularly masochistic loop of alternating between DF, Neo Scavanger and Cataclysm:DDA.

If you look at the two games made before Guerrilla and the one game made after Guerrilla, Guerrilla is definitely the odd one out. Despite what marketing might have led us believe, Guerrilla was the only one that A) wasn't linear to a fault and B) had lots of somewhat meaningful terrain destruction.

Working on Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, around chapter 10-ish. Either this is significantly easier than Awakening or I've learned a lot from Awakening, because the only person to have died was Ike once or twice because I sent him out not noticing lancers up ahead. Well worth the cash it cost.

Other than that, I've been screwing around with the latest DF and been working on SMB3 on Virtual Console. Pipe Land is hard as hell.
