Show the old profession and not only the new one when profession change occurs.

I sometimes do remember my group of dwarves more by their professions than by their names. When they do other jobs then they are used to they tend to change their profession. Having this feature would be helpful to get better track of what is going on.

Example:
change
"Ur Urson has become a carpenter."
to something like
"Ur Urson, who used to be a woodcutter, has become a carpenter."
to not only know "you have one more carpenter" but also "you have one less woodcutter").
It may signal assigned labor tasks of your dwarves may need to be checked and potentially changed.

I guess all those "has become" messages for the first profession of given being would stay at the current "shows only new job" style because there is no previous job to show.

I can see the list of former professions for vampires becoming REALLY long.

You can get around this by creating custom profession names in DT, they'll keep that custom name even if they change the actual profession.

I have meant only the last profession, not the whole list of them. For this, no former-professions lists have to be stored and maybe even no additional temporal variables (to store two professions for a while, but that depends on the actual process used). Just sending that previous profession to message centre during the change of profession might be enough.
