Was the windmill built on solid ground, or above a channel? A channel is not necessary, and can cause collapse if the mechanisms below stop.

A couple waterwheels were deconstructed for no apparent reason in my last game, leaving logs behind. Didn't collapse, had support ect.

Since it's happening in 38a the only possible solution is that we are witnessing a divine intervention!   :eek:

Cause is obvious - not a single watt of power generated by the mentioned windmill was put in use for bloodletting or the proper initialization ceremony was not held, thus the punishment of Armok. Next time sacrifice an ox or at very least a goat on the altar of Armok on every built windmill.
