If you could pick the next squire's starting location, would it be...

A southernly port where cultures and norms of society mix and clash with each other?
A westernly city akin to Marienburg, home of current squire in play?
An easternly outpost at the edge of kingdom's borders, a beginning of thisverse's Silk Road?
A northernly fortress where young men prove themselves in combat with giants, wildlings and mystical beasts?
Centre of the kingdom, trapping the young squire in a thick web of decadent court's schemings and plots?

We would start mounted training.  What knight can't fight with a long, pointed stick and over 50lbs of armor on?
We do seem to be in fantasy France.

Hmmm. . . .  You just made me think of an important question. How do other cultures hqndle their swordsmanship. We are learning one stance. . . . Maybe we can improve if we learn another.

Excellent Idea! I suggest that we learn the time honored combat method of berserkergang In the link below you can see what I speak of.

2:17 Borgu the Grinder

If we can pull of being dangerous sounding like that (obviously a different name) then that would be AWESOME for the narrative. Plus people might get intimidated.

EDIT: Bump

Honor his request.  No need to complain.  We can find out what's going on from Redfort.

While I do not agree witht he words used, per say, i do agree with the message. Why not offer, for the sake of good faith, to leave our gift there, and come back with our brother, so both exchanges may happen at once, less we bring back a negative message.
