If you could pick the next squire's starting location, would it be...

A southernly port where cultures and norms of society mix and clash with each other?
A westernly city akin to Marienburg, home of current squire in play?
An easternly outpost at the edge of kingdom's borders, a beginning of thisverse's Silk Road?
A northernly fortress where young men prove themselves in combat with giants, wildlings and mystical beasts?
Centre of the kingdom, trapping the young squire in a thick web of decadent court's schemings and plots?

Well, that mark on our head quite possibly just saved our lives. Or was a good warning sign, either way. She was trouble.

Breakfast!

Greet her! Be polite, ask her if she has time to pass part of the morn with a bored stranger while he gains his bearings. If she wants to talk, try to (politely) position the conversation as to why she was at an inn, instead of the chapel? Surely they have bedding for the religious sort.

Indicate that we have not taken the Vow of Chastity and would be happy to discuss the matter of her mark discreetly in our quarters.

+1 But keep hand near sword, and let her walk into the room first. Wouldn't want her sticking a knife in our back.

HmMm. I hope she doesn't have something to do with that one woman from before, who made the mark burn.

Let's be honest.

+1 to this. Let's not screw this up again. We've got a penchant for doing that. And if we do screw this up, we could go to the Church to look for work as I said earlier. Maybe even learn to read like we wanted.

This reminds me of that trend that a lot of MSPAs seem to have (Cheesemaker, that one thing with the Khajiit, Homestuck (er, maybe not Homsetuck), so on) in which the MC is heaped with misfortune non-stop.

Shake her hand. I'll not spurn you milady, I welcome your friendship. I have some business around town, trying to get my foot in the door with the nobility around here. Would you be fine staying alone for a while if I had to leave later on?
