Dany was crouched over the corpses of the enemies he shot. His expressions were unreadable, and so nobody knows if he just stole some trinkets or if he did something else. He lingered a while around the dead body of the thief before returning to his post.

"Let's get this done with, then."

The mercenaries said their parts and moved into position, intent to drive the soldiers from the keep. They took the supplies offered and had no questions for the prisoners, the two locked inside the house.

The militia captain, for his part, was surprised. He hadn't expected the mercenaries to actually offer to help, looking as if he was preparing to give a knowing comment of understanding at their denial. His shock was soon replaced by a hope-filled grin, the first that's adorned his face in a good while from the looks of it.

"You have my thanks once again, strangers! Let's drive the motherless dogs off our lands then! We'll make them pay for every family broken and life taken!" The rest of the militia cheered with the captain.

ENEMY PHASE

There was a rustle in the trees across the road as a dozen or so soldiers prepared themselves for assault. They knew that for the mercenaries and the militia to have gotten this far, they must of killed the team at the village. They aimed to avenge their fallen comrades.

Up north, there was a loud creek as the gate keep door visibly opened to let a figure in, there seemed to be a hustle and bustle going on up there, and four horsemen and women stood past the bridge, holding their lances ready. It looks like this fight's about to get interesting.

ALLY/NEUTRAL PHASE

The militia, true to their word, started taking up positions behind the mercenaries, ready for the charge but waiting for the more experienced mercenaries to start it, or their captain to call out the order. The performer among the group imbued the monk, revitalizing the man.

The two, true to backing up their brave words to the militia, charged across the field to the opposing force. The metal giant slung javelin after javelin at an axe-wielding soldier, the man nimbly ducking behind trees and dodging them, but they did well to distract him. Knowing the fighter unable to guard against both the javelins and the incoming fencer, Blake pressed his advantage. With a deft stab, the point of the rapier easily ducked past the meager defense of the fighter and sunk deep into the enemy.

The fighter screamed in anger and pain at the attack, and having had enough of being on the defensive, struck out with his hefty steel axe. The thick blade cut through the air with an audible swish as it impacted the fencer who was trying to quickly pull the sword free from the man, but alas, it wasn't fast enough. There was a loud crash of flesh being rent and broken bones as the fencer went down with a crash onto the ground roughly, feeling the life slowly bleed away from his broken body.

The fighter snarled and hefted his axe once more into the air to lay the finishing blow, but a javelin found its mark in the unwary opponent, driving deep into his chest and sending the man against a tree roughly. The man hacked up blood and glared at the attacker unsteadily, leaning against the tree he smacked into for support. The fencer was now the last thing on the man's mind.

Get to M-24; Strike at Fighter D.
Alessa looked at the militia captain and spoke a few words she hoped would give them aid. "I've seen a lot of the world in my years, and you don't need to accompany us towards the keep. Ensure your people are safe, and back us up when you know nobody is in sure danger. None of you have to die today to attain your freedom."

With that, she strode from the woods and brandished her dagger, striding past Ferrum in a quick sprint.
"Nice to know you've got my back Ferrum," she whispered before yelling at the enemy. "Today, your lord shall fall! The tyranny shall not continue--none of you need to die for a futile cause!"

The metal man made a quiet hummph of approval at Alessa.

"If you cannot trust steel to be steadfast, what can you? I stand beside you, as always."

The militia captain was silent at what the thief had said, thinking on her words as she moved to join the assault. With a passing comment to the neighborhood tower of steel, she fell upon the fighter. The man, thinking he could get the upper-hand on his knife wielding assailant, struck first with a swiping blow of the axe that hit nothing but air.

In fact, she wasn't even anywhere to be seen, having vanished amongst the thick trees and deep thickets of the dense grove. The fighter snarled as he held his axe ready, but stumbled forward with a shout of pain as a knife found its way into his back. A second wild swing fell nothing but air under its crushing might, and was rewarded with a second swift stab to the back of the man, Alessa retrieving her knife confidently as she primed for another bout.

Meanwhile, Shirou found his own target equally as easily, his horse's thundering hooves digging into the well trodden turf of the road easily and the nomad loosing two arrows in rapid succession at the soldier before he even realized he was under assault. The first struck the man solidly in his right shoulder, the second his right forearm, the arrow driving deep and breaching through the man's arm. When the soldier wheeled around to see his attacker, all he caught was the distant figure quickly almost out of reach already nocking more arrows at ready.

Spoiler: HP (click to show/hide)

[Horrible mistake rectified! Alessa gains a second cancel attempt next attack to make up for the forgotten one!]
