The Telemachus slowly moves to the hulk and the team of three marines are deployed in EVA suits via the airlock, bringing an emergency generator with them.

Due to the lack of power, the marines use a hull breach in a corridor to enter the ship. The entire hall is shrouded with blackness as the away team toggle their suits' lights. They then proceed to slowly make their way to the bridge, where they find floating corpses of the former bridge crew. The marines hook the emergency generator up with the bridge's local power, and the consoles immediately come to life, along with a repeating "ALERT" on the speakers.

The main database seems to be mostly irrecoverable. Luckily the black box remains intact and is hooked up to the Telemachus via remote access, which begins downloading the contents.
The away team start trekking to the engine room. Passing several hull breaches, they arrive to see a shunted reactor core, and fried backup generators. Located by where the reactor core previously was, the marines also find a heat sink, which is quickly disconnected and stowed away in their suit storages. (1 Heat Sink acquired) The next destination is the hangar, which houses two intact fighters, blissfully floating in the hangar.
Passing even more hull breaches, the team encounters the weapons maintenance room, where the inner workings of the dual energy cannons are located. Inside, they find a decent amount of unused ammunition and a mostly functional DEC system, according to the engineers looking at it via the video feed. (10 Heat Clips acquired)

The marines await further orders as for more places that may be a source of parts, information, or other things.
The download of the black box is finished. The computer's log appears to be the file on it.

So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Well, it's unlikely anyone survived, since the barracks were hit, but order the Marines to look into any sealed compartment that could  host someone. Take care not to depressurize those compartments while looking for them.

Ask the engineers what else they might need. Ask them if they could jury-rig the DEC to one of the fighter to make a bigger, slower, harder-hitting attack craft.

What's a DEC?

What kind of tech do we use to tow large things? Cranes? Metal ropes? Tractor beams?

Does anyone other than the pilot know how to fly a fighter? We should definitely see if we can recover the two fighters regardless. And what is a DEC? If it's portable, we should take that too. See if we can find any munitions lockers, take the weapons/armour/other marine gear. If we're tracking fuel/food/other consumables, see if we can find any of that as well. If there is a shield generator/capacitor, take that. Anything I've missed?

I figured DEC= Duel Energy Cannon.

And we don't need special stuff to tow stuff, we're in space.

DEC does in fact mean Dual Energy Cannons. Should of clarified that.

HMR stands for Hazardous Materials Requisition, not Horrible Massive Ruination, though I can understand how one could get confused.
God help us if we have to agree on pizza toppings at some point. There will be no survivors.

Upon hearing your question, the Engineering Officer seems to stifle laughter and says "I really don't think that's possible, sir. The DEC on this class of ship takes up a relatively large amount of space. Hell, it's probably as big as a fighter. I could instruct the engineers to look into using the weapons from one of the fighters on board the hulk, however."

Meanwhile, the marines slowly scan the ship for signs of life, and don't appear to have any luck in doing so until they come back to the hangar. A marine notices that the hangar control room appears to still be intact. Given the fact that the hangar is depressurized, there doesn't really appear to be a way to open the door without venting most of the air out. They look through the window on another side of the room, and the one person inside appears to be okay, but is lacking an EVA suit. There is a suit locker nearby, though.

Also, general information on a common U.E.F. hangar:
It has a blast door that can open and close, as well as integrated equipment to vent atmosphere in and out of the hangar. There are various rooms for unsuited personnel to go in during depressurization, though people claim that the U.E.F. design of these is flawed as one can only enter and exist the pressurized rooms either when the hangar's pressurized, or with an EVA suit.
To remedy this problem, newer ships use a Star Wars-esque force field in the hangar to allow constant atmosphere. This ship doesn't, though.
