it reminds me of this part in Sandman.

Lucifer gets access to a world of his own and departs, and god sends these angels down to hell to rule over it since he needs to be replaced. Only, they try to give the suffering in hell morality and purpose, they want it done for righteous and noble reasons, and suddenly hell is so so so mucvh worse for the souls there.

The problem with that is that in the Bible, Satan himself is thrown into hell at the end of time. Nobody is in heaven or hell now, according to the Bible; that happens at the end of time, after the last judgement, and Satan goes into the pit of fire with everybody else condemned as a prisoner. Even Dante's account shows that Satan does not really rule hell gleefully, but is stuck at the bottom of it and is suffering himself.

... it's a comic, not a religious book. Batman makes an appearance in the very first episode. I don't think they were entirely working on accuracy.

I would make a comment about the accuracy of the Bible, but that could lead to a very nasty turn of the argument indeed so I shall not. It is more a case of being true to the source material than being accurate.

It does not have to be true to anything. I just personally find it better when adaptations of something stay close to the source material.

Sandman isn't an adaptation, it is an independent story.

It is an independent story that features other people's characters. However, I am in no position to tell them what to do, especially since all Bible characters are public domain anyway.

you are way too obsessed with realism. It's fiction, and it's a comic, I think you would be hard-pressed to find a comic that follows anything but it's own reality. I mean, this universe has Superman, that's not realistic at all.

It's a graphic story. Not every story has to follow the same lines. Sometimes, they take a concept and make it their own. There's even a side comic which I love all about Lucifer.

Plus Sandman was originally written by Neil Gaiman, but I suspect you'd hate his works because his stories aren't really mired down by reality and are generally fantastical.

God, I like you Urist, but you are an odd duck sometimes.

Since my point was that it did not fit the Bible's account, which might possibly not be entirely realistic, I would not say this was about realism, but I have mentioned the subject many times in this thread.

I can accept being odd, but a duck? Quack, quack, I guess.

Removed the latest transgender discussion and warned somebody.  I'm sorry I had to remove the whole thing, but it started from a bad place.

Getting back on topic then....

There seem to be a growing number of games where one may play either a male or female character.

Of these, I particularly recommend Fallout: New Vegas, as you also have the opportunity to assassinate a misogynistic warlord (and, at your discretion, also mutilate his corpse)

To admit though you always could play a man or woman in the fallout series.

IN FACT! It actually mattered if you were male or female in Fallout 1 and 2. (Ps. It was almost always better to play a female)

It is one of only three games I know of where playing a male or female actually has a noticeable effect on your playthrough.
