You're once again typing with blinders on.

Having some dude on the internet come along and tell you everything that you have worked for, that you have surrounded yourself, is entirely different than it actually is. There's no basis for the argument.
You are also 'Some dude on the internet', I beg you to realize.
Neonivek is JUST as large a part of this community as you are, so if you want us to even make the simplest effort to even acknowledge your opinions, 'Dude', then you'd best start treating others with a level of respect akin to that which you think you deserve.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

anyway, I'm not going to argue back and forth about what feminism is or isn't, because I have actually done the research to be aware of the issue, and I don't feel that you have. It's not personal, it's just a matter of putting a lot of time and effort into something, and then having some dude on the internet come along and tell you everything that you have worked for, that you have surrounded yourself, is entirely different than it actually is. There's no basis for the argument.
Translation: "I am uncomfortable with other people holding different views or challenging mine, and I suddenly realize that despite my zealous devotion to the ideology, I am unable to articulate what it actually is in a succinct matter, so I will explain in a circumlocutious way, then refuse to explain altogether."

We're not saying she's wrong, we're saying that she's making a terrible job of explaining her side.

This, thank you.

If I am doing a poor job explaining things, fine, say so. I'm am certainly not the best possible representative for anything, really, but I am also one of very few speaking out about women's rights to equal representation in gaming. Glowcat is certainly more eloquent than I am, but also I think some of this lies with perceived intent.

I'm not really following his line of thinking, nor why you agree with his summary so readily. You were arguing about the definition and purpose of an ideology, not an experience. Is Feminism some sort of spiritual journey? Do you receive the holy ghost of Susan B. Anthony? If you don't agree with someone's definition of a term, you should be able to explain your view in a succinct, logical way; you shouldn't just leave and declare that you're "not going to argue back and forth . . . because I have actually done the research." Such a manner of leaving an argument is a cop-out.

You have a rather broad definition of the term "trash talk." I'm not trying to intimidate or threaten you, I'm merely telling it as I see it—albeit in a sarcastic way.

Is that you, Magic Missile?
I have no idea of whom you speak, could you perhaps explain?

Well, certainly not Pathos! That would be a crazy conspiracy theory on the level of the Lower Forum Illuminati, who also do not exist just like Pathos! Heh-heh-heh! Ha!

I believe that so long as no one insults anyone else, you can have heated discussions and still be friends.

Which unfortunately isn't what is happening here.

the point being, (and the continued sarcasm isn't appreciated,) is that, speaking from a position of experience, it is very frustrating to argue with someone who does not have experience on the issue who steadfastly rejects what you are trying to explain to them. It's not that he can't have an opinion, it's just that I feel I am wasting my time arguing it. I feel my point has been made as succinctly as necessary.

Like I said, I am not a pro at communication. I come off as rage-y, because 1) I am a pretty angry person, but rightfully so I feel in many cases, and 2) written word seems to convey more anger than I mean for it to.

I had a guidance counselor that had these stickers that said "if you aren't angry, you aren't listening." I tend to go by that rule, though I am not saying it is optimal.

It's definitely Pathos.

(But seriously, person signed up two days after Magic Missile clocked out and he's very outspoken about feminism already.)

I think that was pretty clear. That is a problem that feminism deals with. Women are supposed to be meek and quiet. Seen and not heard, or trying to express their silly little thoughts.

That is what the average person gets fed on feminism, vitriol and contempt.

smeeprocket, I'm sorry, but if you're not willing to actually discuss and explain your points, what are you trying to accomplish in a discussion thread? You have a right to be angry, but this is not a place to vent your anger.
