I don't mind multiple questions
But when they are multiple big questions of several different topics than what is being discussed is when it gets a little hard to swallow

Can I please see a link to what you are talking about with that one person though? I am slightly interested in finding out......

talking to that one person? oh! Lilith

You can find out about Lilith here.

she's usually excluded from the Bible, tbh. But I think it's still an interesting issue for judeo-christians.

In regards to the concept of tearing apart one's beliefs, I can't understand how people can feel like that and then try to stop it and maintain there beliefs.
The actual issue in this case is that this thread is not the place for it. As the rules make quite clear.

I'm going to be flat out honest I believe the first because it makes sense to me. I have seen the research and all that and I don't much care, call me ignorant I don't care about that either, it just makes sense to me and well ya....
The second one I'm going to be flat out honest again, animals don't mean much, they don't have souls or anything hugely important. They are just there for humans. And the snakes were all punished to show man that yes this did happen, satan came as a serpent and tempted my creation so I from away the serpents legs as an example

Blah blah blah

Oh god, I think I must have pissed some deity or other off REALLY badly because I just woke up with an absolutely killer headache + stomach ache combo.
That, or, y'know... Just dehydrated.

In regards to the concept of tearing apart one's beliefs, I can't understand how people can feel like that and then try to stop it and maintain there beliefs. Then again, I'm the kind of person who's generally happy to, unless they're attacking me personally, have what I 'believe' (though that's a loose term) tested by other people. Since, I can just... Change my beliefs if they're wrong. I don't get why something like that is so unthinkable to so many people, but I digress quite badly.

All who can answer, though mostly pertaining to Christian or Christian-type religions
Do you believe Satan is the Lord of Hell/Ruler or an entity that is there for punishment, just like the humans who are supposed to be sent there? (I think I remember reading somewhere that Satan and the demons are in just as much torment and hate hell just as much as any human sent there, or something to that effect.)
Who betrayed Jesus and why?
What is your vision of heaven?
What's the deal with Original Sin?
Original sin is what Adam and Eve did by disobeying god and that sin carries on into every person
Heaven is a perfect place with no sin or shame that god set up for everyone that becomes saved
I don't exactly understand the who betrayed Jesus question
Satan is not the ruler of hell. Actualy if we are talking right now, hell hasn't been opened up yet IIRC it opens up after judgment. Santa  was actually given a lot of power on earth. I'm not entirly sure if the fallen angels are in a hell like place though......

However, my intent wasn't to tear apart anyone's beliefs, and I couldn't have known, in fairness, that my questions would be taken that way.

But anyway...

so, since animals are there for humans, do you feel there is such a thing as animal cruelty? Or is any use or treatment of animals acceptable. (I don't think the Bible really lays out any laws on that.)

Not really sure. What I can extrapolate from the Bible, is that Lucifer[I'll call him "Lucy" for short] wanted mankind to be able to perceive good and evil. God wanted them to be ignorant, because They knew that, given knowledge of good and evil, they could choose evil, which was bad. After the whole Garden debacle, Lucy was stripped of his wings[Dragon turned to serpent] and cast down. Not really sure what canonically hapens afterwards. The Bible describes Lucy a fair bit less then the actual Church does[See "Shitty fanfics, above"]. In any case, according to Revelation[Questionable canon, please take with 1/12th of a saltshaker], Lucy would be cast into Hell[Described as a pit of burning brimstone] for eternity at the same time as everyone else at the Last Judgement. Not ruling it. IN it.

Who betrayed Jesus and why?

Judas, for monetary gain, as far as I know. He supposedly later crucified himself later in penance.

What is your vision of heaven?
This is

What's the deal with Original Sin?

Original Sin is knowledge of good and evil or the ability to sin. I suppose you could also call it sapience. The ability to, with full knowledge of the wrongfulness of your actions, commit wrongdoing. This is the cutoff between person and animal. An animal who kills a person has no idea that what they did was wrong. A person who kills a person KNOWINGLY is guilty of sin. Not sure where some of the smarter monkeys fit into this, as their exact level of sentience is tricky to determine.

Why do you believe that, though? What is the sense? Every single thing points to the earth being billions of years old, and I don't believe I know any biblical reason why it shouldn't be. Other than the whole seven days thing, but that's blatantly not literal.

God, as much as I am right there with you wanting to hash the young earth creationism stuff out, I don't think he wants to answer anymore questions about it. At least that is what I got from his comment.

Also, you'll probably get in trouble for making statements about your own beliefs, as opposed to asking questions.

Why does it carry on to every person? Is there a reason for it that's stated or is it a 'just 'cause' situation? (Also, I think I remember reading somewhere that humans no longer inherited the sin due to Jesus' sacrifice or something, but still had to deal with the consequences despite not inheriting the sin itself. I could be totally remembering wrong though, or it could be from another type of Christianity.)

Sounds about right. Is it a clouds-in-the-sky type deal or do you think it shifts to accommodate the preferences of each person?

This one was more just information seeking. Someone betrayed Jesus (I think it was Judas or something?) and I didn't feel like googling it so I thought to just ask it here along with the other questions. I was also wondering *why* that person betrayed Jesus (jealousy, loathing, religious disagreement and so on.)

Wait, so what happens to the humans who die but aren't eligible for heaven? Is everyone just going to wait until Judgement to get sent to their respective paradise and punishment?
Yes, Santa is the greatest of all, lo as he comes on the 25th, bearing gifts! I'm assuming that's just a typo. xD
Sorry Arcvasti.

Christians

What do you think about the theory that Judas betrayed Jesus on Jesus' orders? Like 30 pieces of 8 is apparently chump change. And Jesus knowing someone was going to betray him, and it needing to happen to absolve humans of their sins.

I didn't say animals were here for us to cut to pieces for entertainment either!
What the hell guys! All I said was they weren't created equal to humans, where the hell did you get animal cruelty from?!?
No just no!
You should not abuse animals, when I said they were here for us I meant as companions, sources of food, work animals, fill in the blank.
We should treat them nicely because they are here to help us if anything else
By god I didn't meant they were play toys
Also auto correct is the worst invention ever

There is, as far as I know, no mention of Satan being in hell in the Bible.

smeeprocket:

Lilith is mentioned once in the Bible, as one of the things/creatures/demons in Edom. It looks to me like screech-owl is not an unreasonable translation in context.

As an otherwise entirely non-Biblical spirit/creature/person, I'm not sure of her relevance. Clarify?

no no no I'm not saying you personally are okay with animal cruelty. But the implications of animals existing for the use of humans allows for that possibility and  means it would be acceptable.

What? If Cryxis doesn't want to answer questions, he can just ignore them. If he wants me to stop asking them, I shall do so gladly. As far as I'm concerned I was only asking a question, and the example of a puppy was just another way of asking said question. I could have rephrased it to "Do you think that when you see the emotion on a dog's face, it doesn't have a soul?" but what's the difference?

As for the seven days thing...well, it's obvious it wasn't made in seven days, and as far as I'm away Cryxis doesn't believe it was. If he does, then sorry for giving opinion, I didn't know you did.

@Cryxis: I wasn't saying we should torture animals, just stating that were you to, it would give ample evidence in the form of emotions exceedingly similar to ours.
