I believe in creationism, I also believe that god had a hand in everything so he could have easily used evolution to make things how they are but one of my big beliefs is that man was created sentient so no bacteria-fish-amphibian-mammal-ape-human thing going on in my belief.

Do you believe the earth is 6000 years old? If so, how do you rectify this with civilizations like the ancient Sumerians and those before or at the same time as them?

Also, how do you rectify the tested and heavily researched scientific data not being correct versus a very ancient book? How can you effectively disagree with peer-reviewed empirical evidence?

Also, do you feel that women are inherently inferior, since men were created first and women were created from them, and that Eve was deceived by a serpent whereas Adam wasn't (although I guess he was deceived by Eve)

ALSO if you don't feel women are inferior, what are your thoughts on Lillith, in that case, and her expulsion?

Why is it whenever I answer a simple question a million more are asked to tear apart my beliefs?

No the world is obviously older than 6000
IMO it's probably about 150,000~300,000 years old not millions, sorry

Women are equal to men, as Jesus was fairly pro women's rights
Yes Eve was deceived by satan, (note- satan/lucifer was the most beautiful creation of god, could probably shape shift, wanted the throne of god, envied humans, and was possibly very coercive) but Adam was tasked with watching Eve and so it was also his fault for not stopping her then it was even more his fault when he partook of the fruit when Eve offered it.

Who is Lilith? (Sorry not a huge bible reader, also teenager with hard courses in school so I don't make much time for reading said bible. I'm also not a picture perfect Christian by far so don't expect me to act like one)

Oh ffs...

Smeeprocket, this is your first warning.  I was informed of an issue in the thread (thanks, btw), and I come here to find you knee-deep in arguing with people.

There is clearly a rule against what you are doing, though I don't remember the number off of the top of my head.  Please take a moment to cool off.  Thank you.

Edit: Specifically, you're breaking rule number 3 by badgering people and have repeatedly stated your own belief to contradict someone's answer, which is against the spirit of the thread.  Specifically, here:

Also, I have yet to hear an answer to the whole question of how god can be all knowing and not malevolent.
is not all-powerful

but the bible says he is all powerful. It specifically says that.

Also, if he is all knowing, he knows how everything is going to play out, and it would be cruel to condemn people to hell, since, he would have pre-condemned them from the beginning. Hence, free will being an illusion.
This isn't a question, it's you stating your opinion.

wth, I was asking questions.

I'm not hammering him, I'm specifically asking him questions about his beliefs. I want to know his take on things.

He can opt to not answer those questions and I won't give him grief, but I would like to know the number of the rule that mentions specific questions that are off limits.

If someone says they believe in creationism, I want to know why and how they reconcile scientific data with it.

You know what, I should sign up here to answer questions.

Agnostic Atheist with anti-theistic tendencies/Rational sceptic with an emphasis on empirical evidence/Physicist.

Though I know better than to actually ask anyone any questions. We all know how things like that end.

yea apparently there are unwritten rules about what we can and can not discuss. There's needs to be a written list of said topics.

So what are religious peoples standing on alcohol?

I believe that it's ok to drink but not to the point of getting drunk.
Drinking a bit is fine as long as you do not intend to or drink enough to get drunk/impare your self (mostly your decision making which can be affected by getting drunk.)

There's nothing you aren't allowed to discuss, and I'd appreciate an end to the passive-aggressive snipes at me for warning you.  Cryxis clearly feels badgered, and I'm inclined to agree that your questioning of him strikes me as both badgering and trying to tear apart his beliefs.  I'm also warning you because this isn't an isolated incident from you.

Oh if that's the problem then I'll post my further questions to another poster.

That really isn't worth getting out of shape about, though. It's like I'm playing jeopardy. I want to know how someone else perceives something, so I jump off from a starting point and if I don't phrase it in the form of a question I get in trouble. FFS

edit: oh it WAS that.

Look, I was not badgering him. I don't know how to phrase a fundamental question like that in any other way. Plus, I was only warned earlier because I didn't ask a specific person my question early on.  ::)

Note, this is not passive aggression, I am directly question you with regard to your judgement of my questions.

How am I supposed to know that someone is going to feel badgered if I ask questions without them expressing that. He expressed that, then you locked the thread and got mad at me. I didn't even know my phrasing was a problem, until he said so. But I am also not psychic. It's not like I badgered him over a few posts and was tormenting him. I asked him a series of questions, he said he felt like I was tearing his beliefs apart, I eased up.

Well asking a relevant question like the one about the time scales was ok

Then you jumped to womens equality and some person I didn't know.... From creationism.....
Multiple questions especial ones that like that, ya know women's rights and other strong subjects, out of something unrelated just feels like badgering
And you, as well as others, have done that to me multiple times and it feels like badgering and I don't like so ya I'm going to point it out sorry

So the problem was that I asked multiple questions at once?

I've done that multiple times to others without issue.

My next post (which I guess I just won't bother with) linked some stuff to give you further info on what I was talking about.

I don't care if you feel that way, it doesn't make me mad, I will ease up if you feel badgered, but I can't know that in advance is my point.

I don't mind multiple questions
But when they are multiple big questions of several different topics than what is being discussed is when it gets a little hard to swallow

Can I please see a link to what you are talking about with that one person though? I am slightly interested in finding out......

I see no problem with asking questions. I, personally, do it for the enjoyment I get from it. I don't know why I enjoy, perhaps I just have an argumentative streak in me. But if someone gets angry, all it takes to calm it down is for you to not get angry in return.

Providing you're not asking terrible things, of course. Plus, there are some faithful who welcome challenge to their faith (albeit a large minority) because it makes their faith stronger, or somesuch.

Why do you believe this? There's proof of life being older than that.

Okay, so why did God, knowing Satan was just dressing himself up as a snake, punish all of snake-kind forever?

It was hardly the animal's fault.

Oh god, I think I must have pissed some deity or other off REALLY badly because I just woke up with an absolutely killer headache + stomach ache combo.
That, or, y'know... Just dehydrated.

In regards to the concept of tearing apart one's beliefs, I can't understand how people can feel like that and then try to stop it and maintain there beliefs. Then again, I'm the kind of person who's generally happy to, unless they're attacking me personally, have what I 'believe' (though that's a loose term) tested by other people. Since, I can just... Change my beliefs if they're wrong. I don't get why something like that is so unthinkable to so many people, but I digress quite badly.

All who can answer, though mostly pertaining to Christian or Christian-type religions
Do you believe Satan is the Lord of Hell/Ruler or an entity that is there for punishment, just like the humans who are supposed to be sent there? (I think I remember reading somewhere that Satan and the demons are in just as much torment and hate hell just as much as any human sent there, or something to that effect.)
Who betrayed Jesus and why?
What is your vision of heaven?
What's the deal with Original Sin?

Argh, ninjas. Had to get up to stem a bloody torrent coming from my nose, the blood god has punished me :P

You didn't collect enough skulls for the skull throne.
