Reina gently puts down the Lagann and hops out of her BattleScout, moving around to shake Darry lightly. "Darry? You OK? It's over, you're safe."

((*clears throat*))

Buki faltered slightly. "I'm not sure yet sir... But I'm sure it's not a good reason. This could be an invasion of sorts. Seeing what Team Dai Gurren did against the Anti-Spirals may have something to do with it... Can we check on the other members, sir?"

If it WAS an invasion, Buki was sure they'd try to cripple the fighting forces. That meant Viral, Leeron, the Black Sisters,  Daiyaka, and Artenborough, among others...

Darry grunts, sweat on her face as she opens her eyes and stares at Reina.
_{"W-Where.. am I.. Reina, i-is that you?"}

"If something happened to the others, I would know about it. I have eyes and ears everywhere..."

"Yea, it's me... I, um... I'm sorry... Gimmy didn't make it..." She says, choking up as tears well up in her eyes.

"Not in the slightest, and the man himself hasn't been any help either. Won't stop yammering on about how his way would be better. Heh, though you'd know what that sounds like."

His hands are in his pockets, and he's looking not directly at Jesse, but instead up and around, at the night sky, at the multitude of twinkling lights in the towers of the distant downtown district. His expression is unlike what she'd have seen from the ghost before - normally it's filled with purpose of one kind or another, and he's always focusing on something, devoting his full attention to it, lending even his glances a fierce intensity.
Instead his gaze is somewhat vague, and his face is slack. He doesn't seem to really be looking at anything in particular.

"No, I'm afraid my mind's firmly set on the past tonight, it seems. You'd think it wouldn't be, I've had six hundred fifty four years to stew over it, but that fight, the idiot kid dying, everything ... it brings it all back in a way that pointlessly raging about it just doesn't."

He puffs out a small sigh and focuses back on Jesse, his gaze strangely melancholy.

Jesse stares at him with an almost dead expression, drained from the day's events.
"Afraid I wouldn't know too much about that. That fight sucked, but...I didn't know him. Sounds harsh, 'specially from me, I'm sure, but...on the street, you learn to care about the people you care about. You don't make trouble for everyone else, but you don't go out of your way if you can help it..."

She takes another puff and looks up at the stars. "Oh, hey, just thought of something. You wanna try any of this?" she asks, holding up her pipe. "Don't know if you used to smoke, but you seem like the kind of guy who would."

((I had been thinking he would possess her since he's incorporeal and they would eventually have chatting sessions with him possessing her as they smoked   ))

Darry looked at her in disbelief, tears beginning to line her eyes as she set a hand on her chest and spoke in a broken voice:
"W-What... Reina, stop p-playing around.."

"I know what you mean. It's just always a shame when someone dies because they were too stupid to know what they were doing. I didn't know him either, but ... it could've been stopped."

He brightens up at the offer of the pipe.

"Shit yes! I've done way worse than that back when I had a body, but I did smoke like a chimney."

He reaches out to grab it, but then pauses as he realizes he's still incorporeal.

"Wait a tick, I'm still intangible. How's this gonna work?"

"You could possess me or whatever you did earlier. You can taste stuff like that, right? Plus, it means we both get to smoke."

She shrugs, apparently nonchalant about the idea of  being possessed by a several hundred year old ghost.
