Continue patrol.
I'll go with you, I'm not much help sitting on this ship. Go to the armory and get an automatic rifle with anti-personnel ammo, a survival knife, and a net cannon that's just big enough to take down those wolves I met. Get a backpack and throw some basic medical supplies in there, a spare helmet, and a signal booster for the radio. Let's go. Leave with [Haveroszaur].

If yes:follow route described above.
If no: listen to her idea for a route.

Observe for any obvious (unplanned) mutations. Do not stop growth.

You know what? You can't see any unplanned mutations. Your self-confidence is well placed.

At least not any visually observable mutations...

Continue patrol.

You reach the river. There's no big animals visible anywhere and only few small birds in distance. River itself is far from clear so you can't even see if there's fishes in the water.

Someone is jogging towards you. Looks like Guni.

Begin treating Alex. Also, try getting a sample of BAQ-3 for further analysis.

"This is Dr. Pendle. Biology team, is there any possibility the bacteria BAQ-3 may be harmful to humans? Traces have been found both in Guni and in the individual Alex Ramen, who's begun suffering from necrosis.
Get up.
"I'm fine, really."
Get up.
"I'm fine, really."
"You're literally rotting away as we speak. In addition, you may be suffering from a very dangerous alien bacteria that your immune system has never seen anything like, which may prove fatal. You are not fine. You are about as not fine as you can be. Now, lay down, and allow me to work."
Gently push Alex down, and use whatever treatment for necrosis as we might have in the future. Restrain him, if necessary.

Kiss the doctor.

Kiss the doctor.
Avoid kiss.
"There is a time and place for such things. This place is not the infirmary, nor is the time when your neck is rotting. Now, let me work."
Work.

Spoiler: SECRETS (click to show/hide)

Despite his false claims of being healthy Alex is tightly stapped into bed face down and escorted into operation room. Pendle starts surgery, which basically consists of him telling orders to the infirmary and watching how its countless, fast and perfectly accurate robotic arms extend and begin cutting the patient.

Even in future there isn't many ways to treat necrosis so Pendle resorts to the traditional one; remove all dead tissue. The mentioned tissue happens to be located in Alex's neck so this is rather delicate operation. All blood veins passing through dying tissue are closed, cut and replaced with artificial veins going through machinery which clears his blood of all that foreign shit floating in it. Once all his blood is cleared and one third of it is replaced it is time to remove actual dead tissue. This is done with speed and accuraty impossible for human.

What nerves were in area are replaced with cybernetic ones. Blood veins are detached from the machine and placed in proper position inside the body. Finally the resulting hole in his neck is filled with a medical foam to keep things in place. And to prevent him from scratching the injury and moving the muscles his neck is locked in place with a neck brace.

Final task is to regrow damaged muscles, veins and nerves for transplanting them later. Using Alex's salvaged cells during the operation Pendle creates molds for them and programs the cells to regrow necessary things. These parts will be ready in next turn.

Samples of BAQ-3 are secured from his blood.

As for the kiss... Please refer the quote below.
Kiss the doctor.
(Roll) you give a big sloppy kiss to the helmet of the doctor, He reqards you with a deadpan reaction, "Well inhibitions seem to be gone".

(Thank you for this perfectly accurate prediction.)

Alex can walk around and do his job as long as he avoids lifting things and takes it easy.

Allow those that aren't showing issues to resume work.
Allow Guni back to work, provided suit's on.
Keep György in quarantine to get that clotting checked.
Be in the operating room with Alex, to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Guni has her suit on so it is ok to release her. And she's eager to get back to work.

György is kept in isolation room.

You are not permitted into operation room, but you can watch the process through windows. As far as you can tell nothing goes wrong, unless you count Alex's attempt to kiss the doctor.

Continue patrol.

Adam has already left, but nothing stops you from following him. Normal netguns can handle those wolves just fine. And for bigger prey it's better to use tranqs anyway. As for medical supplies you get anesthetics in two variety, one functions as localized pain killer and other one knocks person out. Those come in syringes because you can't really use anything else out there without risking exposure. And something else that's vague enough to be converted into convient medical equipment when needed. As long as you won't leave the map you shouldn't need signal boosters but take one anyway.

After packing up you run after Adam. He's already at the river, so when you reach him you are out of breath.

Keep flying around watch for more unusual behavior, as well as watch over the potral group and warn them of any nearby threats.

Does complete lack of megafauna count as unusual? Because you can't see any. Except some bigger birds flying over the lake. Maybe the same ones you massacred yesterday.

Oh god, I am infected! Panic!

You scream and beg while banging the isolation room door.

"AAAAAAAAAA! DOCTOR PLEASE SAVE ME! I DON'T WANT TO DIE I'M TOO YOUNG TO DIE I HAVEN'T EVEN STUDIED EVERYTHING YET!!"

"Well, Alex, the operation has been completed. You're no longer suffering from necrosis, though remnant symptoms of whatever caused it in the first place may still occur. Speak with me immediately if they do. Note that while you're well, you still can't do any heavy lifting without risking injury. Now, if you have any idea wha--"

*Sigh* "One moment, Alex. You're free to go, if you wish, though you are required to wear a full environment protection suit at all times. György! Stop screaming for one second!"

Begin examination of György, trying to identify what the cause of the unusual antigens and clotting is. Failing that, just try and fix the clotting.

Ok, check to see what time it is, then go up to the command terminals and track Guni's suit signal to see where she went off to.

Well what the hell's the point of covering ground we've already explored? No! We should do something useful, like locating a ford for this river here. Let's head down to the head where it enters the lake, then walk north until we find a good crossing point. I want to learn more about this place, that's what we're here for isn't it? Instead we've been caught up with the doc's fucking about bacterium and viruses and shit. I'm sick of him getting in the way, let's go get some real work done! If the river turns out to be impassable before we reach the forest (fuck if I'm ever going in there again), we'll double back to the lake, pick up a car at the base, then head west to see what's over there. How's that sound Cortés? Ready to do some conquering?
