I'll start a planning thread later today.
I await your message, good sir.

EDIT: if you wish to play spies, try an encryption key-based cipher, and just PM the key to everybody in this thread.

It is one, unless I'm doing something wrong.

You really want to encrypt something, translate into one language, and retranslate the syllables into a phonetic character set.

So, for example: Translate into Spanish (or language of choice), and then convert the syllables into compatible Mandarin or Kanji symbols that have the same sound. Give a linguistic person a headache. For added nonsense, convert to hieroglyphs while at it.

Add another tier of encryption to that, use other encryptions/ciphers on top of that, which is compatible with phonetic language, and then Romanize it back (Phonetics like Kanji and such being back to our more familiar local character set). It'll look like absolute untranslatable garbage. Then apply more crap to it as you see fit (HEX encoding and such).

EDIT:
Basically, if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing itoverdoing it.

Geez, I take a break from the forums for a few days and this happens. What are kitchenbots?
A racial slur for Spambots, due to the common misconception that all spambots sell kitchen-related things.
Equality for the spambots! No more oppression! No more oppression! :P

Nein~

I'm not talking about combining everything.

I'm talking about organizing an rp that has nothing to do with anything currently running. Not exactly sure how it would work, would have to find a few people interested in making the colab in the first place. Would need to flat out come up with new a new world for it, no linking current stuff, that only asks for problems, be an ass to set up, although interesting. Unlikely to work longterm.
Hmm... interesting, I'll help out with what I can seeing as I've been in RPs of a similar though far more poorly organized nature, assuming there is anything I am capable of helping out with. Seems like an interesting experiment.

How about this, we go the Navajo code talker route and make our own code based off of the Dwarf language?

So this is how it goes. Bay12 either grows until it gets its own convention, or becomes a secret society with identifying code phrases in conlang.

If I could automate that, yeah, but man. That took me like, ten minutes.

Would it even be able to translate that back?

You'd have to understand the Kanji's pronunciation to hear what they are, then translate that spoken phrase into the original language. If directly translated, you get hilarious Engrish, or total and utter gibberish. Mix-and-match other languages all over the place, and tier relative phonetics, and you've got mayhem to translate. Cross-translations go even more hectic, adding even more encryption per-language tier.

Fireball = Bola de fuego (Bo•la de fu•e•go or Bo la de fu e go) = ボーFUと行く (translated back to English is funny. (I'll go with Bo FU))

I tried to find a way to reverse the process; but it's easier said than done. Needs some perfection, but it's a good start. There doesn't happen to be a translator that converts roman characters to phonetic characters and back, is there (no = の, for example)? Because this isn't a proper encryption method to apply. With what little I already know of Japanese, it's already a broken translation. I recognize some characters that shouldn't be in that mix.

EDIT:
Here we go: (kinda a mixed-bag here (hirigana, kanji, and katakana). so a messy re-translation)
ぼ(la) で ふエご       (DirTrans: "The pot (la) in Fuego")
ぼ (la) で ふ エ ご       (can't find a compatible character for LA)
bo la de fu e go
bola de fuego
fireball

(might need extended character sets to see characters)

An alternate approach:
Dig Deeper
cavar más profundo
ca var mas pro fun do
kya va ma pyo fu do
きゃ ヴァ ま ピョ ふ ど
きゃヴァ ま ピョふど (structured like "cavar más profundo"; direct translation: "If Ke Cordova or Pyofu etc.")

Meh. It was worth a shot. If anything it's more linguistic context/syntax awareness that's necessary to make this work properly. Would make for a good riddle mechanic nonetheless. Like what if in an alternate universe, this was how the Spanish language was written, instead of Roman/Latin characters?

It's a number of Japanese kanji, if you're wondering.
