Day 4
Encounter 1


You send out two soldiers with enough supplies for a couple of days and a third of your ammo. They scout out the area to the east and notice some lights in the distance. They drive closer to check it out and see that it appears to be some sort of small settlement. Before they can do anything, a man comes out of one of the houses and points a rifle at them, shouting at them to get out of the car.

The man seems emaciated and shaky, but his handling of the rifle suggests he is an experienced marksman. The settlement shows signs of a prior firefight.



Situation:

Friendlies:
1 pickup truck
2 soldiers

Opponents:

1 soldier
?

Inventory:
9 supplies
10 ammo [Light Weaponry]

I think they should try to calm him down he probably is scared that our guys are bandits and we don't want to risk our solider's on a risky move of trying to shoot him

offer him some food and say were not going to hurt you we were just looking for supply for a safe haven that is being built nearby

If this guy is alone he might jump at the chance to have a safe place to stay.

What do the watchers say?

Day 4
Encounter 1


The two soldiers exit the pickup slowly and without making any threatening gestures. They explain that they come from a safe haven from the west and are looking for supplies and anything else they might find. They then offer the man some of the supplies, and say they can't spare a lot since they were planning to travel for another day before returning to their home. The man seems to have calmed down at the offer of food. He explains that a few bandits had come a couple days back but he drove them off, but not before they managed to steal most of his supplies. Apparently they came from somewhere further to the east. After a long conversation he seems quite confident that they weren't coming to rob him, and invites his family out. There are three of them, the soldier, his wife and their daughter. All of them look as if they haven't eaten properly in a while. The soldiers give them what they can spare and radio back home. The pickup truck doesn't have enough room to get them to the base, so someone will have to come pick them up with one of the buses. [New Location discovered] [-3 supplies]

You have options:
Spend the night at the settlement. [] [Secures location from bandits]

+1 continue! but we might need the familiy if there is any form of bandits around, at least till we get a walker running then we might persuade them to surrender their weapons.

Oh sure, we send the bus tomorrow to pick them up; the extra hands to fix the water filter will be great (and the faster exploration of the camp).  There's just no need to spend the night.
