DANG IT! the aquifer is more than one level!

I can still do it, it just takes longer. I still think i can do it in a year.

EUREKA!

exactly 2 months in and I've completely sealed the first layer of the aquifer. The last one is always the hardest though

Despite not being able to oversee yet, can I be dorf'd with the custom title 'not a firefly' if possible.

sure you can be dorfed. I estimate it will be another 4 months-well into summer when i'll be finished, then I can work on my 'surprise'

spring is past.

One level of the aquifer has been breached and the lowest level is about halfway contained. The Farms are producing plenty of plump helmets and the trade depot has been built!

I'll update again at the start of fall.

Wow :o. My pump operator decided to fall asleep in a tile that was only dry because he was pumping water out of it a second ago. He drowned very quickly.

My miner was working down there too, so he drowned too. >:(

2.next time keep a seconded person there with pumping as his only job. in case this happens again.

No, nobody named died. The migrants will take over their jobs. Just a minor setback.
(I had the aquifer just so that someone could use it as their challenge if they were unimaginative)
