Looking for advice on new boots.
« on: December 06, 2014, 02:40:02 pm »

I've been considering replacing my current boots for a while, since they're going on 14 years old now. However, finding a good pair is pretty difficult because the website reviews that I've seen have been wildly inaccurate. I've bought a pair in the past that fell apart pretty quickly, so now I'm asking for advice to avoid wasting my money again.

I currently have a pair of black Belleville (I think - the logo has worn off over the years) combat boots similar to this pair, and I'd keep using and occasionally refurbishing them if I could, but the interior's been worn down a lot and my local boot store only fixes soles and exteriors.

I'm looking for a pair that's similar to the one I currently own - that is, combat boots with thick soles and the quick-lace eyelets, and high enough quality to last me a while.

German army boots. I got to keep my two pairs, have them since 8 years, still good.

Lowa combat boots are pretty good.

Lowa has both excellent boots, that will last a lifetime with proper care, and mediocre boots, Don't go for the cheapest Lowa models.
