So are we putting anything toward investigating the killings? Mercantile PCs can take the role of a Scholar, I believe, so I could do that.

I wish that were true, however due to lack of a large local market, I'm forced to sell cloth to the foreign traders for a mere 4 gold. I have already offered you half of the profits from the exchange, if I go any higher I will finish the turn at a loss (remember, the buildings need grain and furniture to run, which comes to another 7 gold.) edit:and 2 gold tax, I knew I was forgetting something.

Hum, fuck, for some reason I had thought that knowledge came with a captain as well.

So what we have to work with, according to micelus sheet, is 1 Priest, 2 Scholar, 1 Agent, 2 Noble, one military pc, and two mercantile npcs. Hum.

How about A scholar, a agent, and priest, a noble and a miltia unit go to the killings quest. (With father Longroth filling the role of the scholar, priest, or noble.)
Then A agent (Von Hoffenburg) a noble (Sackett) and a miltia unit go to arrest the outlaw.

I'll take care of any moneytary needs for the outlaw quest, Longroth will take care of any monetary needs for the killing quest. Although even this way Von Hoffenburg is clearly still doing more work then ether of us, so I think it's only fair if we split up the workload in this way that I pay him, say. 5 gold extra gold.

So my turn will be to Send myself on the quest as a noble to capture the outlaw, and then send 8 gold to Von Hoffenburg (five gold because he is carrying us though these quests and 3 gold to borrow his noble.)

Does that make sense?

Of course John didn't bring caravans to a remote local with no know possibilities for land trade, that would be ludicrous! He has a small amount of extra gold instead of two caravans (was it four? Or eight? Ether way, I get rid of both caravans for the gold
Seeing how precious wood could be in the new lands, John didn't see a issue with asking a bit more for it, especially since he was already giving up on running at max efficiency to save the town from savages and outlaws! They could afford to spend a bit more on his quality wood! He increased the price of the wood he was selling to the carpenter to 3 gold each.

I will go on that expedition as the Noble to capture the outlaw (with Von Hoffenburgs forces) I'll try to negotiate peace with the woodcutters he has brought under his sway, promising them jobs in my mills and a escape from the possibility that they could become outlaws if they turn on the outlaw and help us capture him, also, that yew wood is promising, especially if it's a large enough amount to build a mill for.

Send five gold to Von Hoffenburg as a thank you for his part in the quests
Send thee gold to von Hoffenburg in exchange for borrowing a noble for a turn
Use Von Hoffenburgs noble to to buy out the npc furniture making workshop in town.

Ah, one thing, because I've realized that there might be a lack of clarification, when I said "can I borrow a noble from you" I mean for a thing unrelated to the quests. I've realized now that it could have been taken to mean "as part of my party for the quest".
