Owen, I've found us a third member for the expedition. Meet Ophelia, she is offering to send her staff (an agent and a scholar) with the second expedition (the one which will explore the coast).

Sackett lead the three of them to his dining room and poured them each a glass of wine as he responded.

"Aye. I think the people have made a good choice my Lord. If it's not presumptuous. Also I am glad that we can get straight to business Father, as the events have disturbed me greatly, and I wish to solve them in a expedient manner as possible. Something of note, a mercenary by the name of Runik Agerl stopped by just earlier today, he had heard of the killings, and for lack of a better use for his sword arm was looking for me to guide him into the mountains. I've informed him of the nature of the skull and agreed to lead him. My anxiousness to bring a end to the killings has perhaps gotten the better of me in this situation, as I'm not sure if he is the most appropriate person for the job, but I wasn't sure how quickly other means could be found to end them though. With both of you here, we shall have to see to that, but at least he is a resource to consider in our plans if we want to use him.

Anyway, that is certainly our most important business, but I would welcome any thoughts you two have on any of the ssues facing us, and the plans I put forward in my second letter."

((Basically, I agreed to collaborate with Playergamer because at the time it looked like quests were 'first come first serve' and I was worried about someone else ballsing it up. However, since Iiteum changed that I'd rather that we do it, although perhaps in concert with Runik, if it would help us. He has a captain and himself to contribute.))

Can I call off the action I posted before if I chose to? I'm not sure if that's possible, but if it helps I sorta did it in a panic because it looked like quests were first come first serve at the time and I wasn't even sure if the quest I was going on even existed anymore. Not that panic is the best excuse for making a hard to administer game even harder... I'd understand if I couldn't.

Oh, also, is it possible for a specialist or a player to get involved in more then one quest per turn? Is there some sorta limit?

On that matter, I think we should keep the matter of the skull and what it implies to ourselves, for now. The folk might become unsettled if they heard, without any concrete facts to tell them. I would hope your mercenary understands that much as well.'

But as for the skull...well from what I've seen of it, I'd say that it's either a form of communication from the natives or some kind of magic ritual, as you mentioned in your letter John. The former would be odd considering their silence over the last 3 years while the latter would be of interest. Horrifying and disturbing, but interesting. Together, we hold sway with the majority of the town's intelligensia. Well, the ones that can keep quiet anyway..."

"That is unfortunate to hear about Rurik. And terrifying to hear that you think the heathens killing our children and sheep could represent some type of greater threat. I had honestly not expected to find more then a small group of outcasts of some dark cult practicing some diabolic rituals that could be easily stopped by some show of force. To hear that they might threaten the city itself is most grave. If such is the case I feel that we have a duty to sally out forthwith and bring a swift end to any dark machinations they might think to bring to bare against our city. Perhaps even as soon as some men from the militia can be gathered."

((I'd be up for putting together some type of expedition. Assuming Iituem allows me to cancel my expedition I already assigned my character to this turn, which I hope he does.))

Lothan eyed von Hoffenburg with a frown. The man had always had some odd beliefs.

'Please, my Lord... I think any talk of magic at this stage is misleading and entirely too early. I doubt we are dealing with anything more than heathen faith and its empty rituals. If you wish, I will erect a wheel on the hills to bless our enterprise - ample enough protection from magic, I should think. The dangers we may face are likely to be of a more physical nature. As such, an escort of soldiers will be useful, but we do not wish to march an army into the interior just like that. Certainly we cannot empty the town of its militia with so many mercenaries on our streets, Mayor! A handful of men should do, for now - myself, scouts and some guards, with a scholar who knows maps, perhaps. If you wish to join us, Mayor, you would be quite welcome - but it might be best you remain with the townsfolk, should they have need of their mayor while we are away.'

'As for Saddler... you say the mercenary failed to capture him, Lord? Do we know of his whereabouts now?'

 Good to meet you Ophelia. Anyways, I have found what Hoffenburg wants done to the east, he is offering cash bounties for those who scout out the areas. While he may be annoyed that we lay claim to the lands, I have no doubt he will still payout the money, which I suggest we share. The payment is not much, only three gold, but it should help each of us.
