How Much Booze/Food do you bring with you?
« on: December 05, 2014, 11:25:25 pm »

As the title implies. I'm curious as to how much food and drink people take with them at embark. I tend to take something like:

Food [20]
Drink [60]

I vary the drink (15 of each) and I generally just grab llama meat because its short name and it always seems to be around.

I also grab 15 of each seed so that I can have the optimal 3x5 farms.. though I never potash/fertilize them :P

Usually i bring 20 of each of the drinks (cause i like variance) (21 will get a free extra barrel)
so 80-84 drinks.
Then i usually take 20-30 food  (can also cheese a bit, pick all different meats, and each different animal product will bring another barrel).

Last ill bring 10-20 milk (only 1 point each) and after the fort starts to come together a bit ill turn it all into cheese and get some more extra barrels.

I'm using default settings....
It is not a big deal as long as I can plant plump helmet.

Unless I plan to embark in a truly inhospitable environment, I bring exactly 0 of each.

I brought 7 plump helmets and 1 pig tail seed in my current fortress, because it seemed quite inhospitable. But well, trees don't regrow, but shrubs do, so that was an overkill.
