The Gelded Goblin

You can geld bessy now, right? And you can butcher captured enemy animals (i think), right? Becasue of the similarities in commanding butchery and gelding, could you then make goblins geldable?  ;D

What horrific plan are you trying to pull off?

You definitely cannot butcher captured enemies. At least in vanilla, I know that if you change dwarven ethics it's possible to butcher enemies. I don't quite remember from my experiments with it, but I'm pretty sure you can't butcher caged enemies or anything, just if they die of some means you can butcher their dead body. Fully thinking through all the ways the viewing mechanics, and the gelding designating mechanics work, I am quite sure that you cannot geld captured enemies unless you release them into an arena with an untrained and unarmed, but heavily armored dwarf and just hope that the dwarf attacks the lower body enough to get the really really rare random gelding in combat trigger then maybe open a locked door to let them into a room full of cage traps.

Its a feature. Impregnating booze is a planned tech tree for dwarves and this is a sneak peek at it.

I actually thought that was what this was going to be about. Heh.

Similar to a pawnshop (often symbolised with three gold balls), the inn would have two green balls hanging on an awning outside the door.

I dump goblins corpses and then dispose of them with an atom smasher :)

And yes, a great inn or tavern name!

I've not seen it, but according to Toady male creatures can be gelded in combat. Maybe you can figure out a way to inflict controlled damage and check the reports until you get one.

I guess if you added the [TRAINABLE] tag to goblins, you might be able to, though you may need to remove the sentience-related tags as well, I'm not sure.

There's also no reason not to tweak dwarven ethics a bit to allow butchering of sentients.

Mmm, goblin sweetbreads...

+1 To neutering goblins.  :D I imagine that scene would play out like this:

Captured Goblin: What do you want from me, dwarf?! You already took my weapons, clothes, and my freedom! What more could you want?
Captain of the Guard: *evil drunken grin* Oi, you still gots yer balls, no? Well, we'll haveta FIX that now won't we?
Captured Goblin: *look of horror* . . . NOOOOOOOOOO!!

Someone figure out how to do this.

What the fuck. Is some random undorfed recruit now our new Darkwing? Hell, even Darkwing just managed to kill two clowns before he went down. It's beyond me that a frigging recruit in the Official Voidspawn Feeding Detachment managed a triple kill on Forgotten Armokhumping Beasts.
